House with garden and terrace Sandwich (United Kingdom)

Living on the edge of Eastry has given us the perfect balance between privacy, village tranquillity and everyday convenience. Whilst we’ve created our own oasis with the house and gardens, everything you need close at hand including local shops, a post office, a well‑regarded primary school and two traditional pubs that have become familiar gathering spots over the years. The village hall is regularly used by many local organisations, including the local theatre company, the Horticultural Society and health and fitness classes. Outside the village, we’ve always loved being able to step straight out into the countryside, with footpaths leading across fields and quiet lanes that make weekend walks a joy. Sandwich is only a few minutes away and has been our go‑to for cafés, restaurants, independent shops and its beautiful historic centre, which still feels like a hidden gem even after all this time. The wider area has offered us so much in terms of lifestyle. The coast is within easy reach, whether we want a breezy walk along Deal’s seafront or a peaceful afternoon at Sandwich Bay. Royal St George’s and other nearby golf courses have been a real bonus, and the choice of schools—both state and independent—has made family life straightforward. Transport links have always been reliable, with nearby stations at Sandwich and Deal providing routes to Canterbury, Dover and high speed trains to London in under 90 minutes, whilst good road connections making travel simple. This has been our family home for over 34 years and for us, the house has been a place where rural charm meets practical living, a combination that has made our time here genuinely special.

Seaside house with terrace Westgate-on-Sea (United Kingdom)

This has been a wonderful holiday home for us for the past 10 years. There is nothing better than arriving here on a Friday evening after a busy week and being able to relax and enjoy the views. We are just across the road from steps down to the fantastic Blue Flag West Bay and in the summer months we spend as much time enjoying the beach as possible. During our time here we have update and extended the property to create the amazing home you see today, which is just ready for new owners to walk into and not have to do anything except install their furniture. We also designed it to be very low maintenance and is very much a ‘lock up and go’ house if you want it as a holiday home, but it can equally well be a very special permanent home for a large family revelling in the location. Westgate is a lovely seaside town and the station is within easy walking distance with the fast train to London taking just over an hour and a half. Westgate is also a very friendly community with a village like atmosphere. It has some charming and individual shops including a unique parade of individual canopied shops and cafes as well as an excellent and inexpensive cinema, a golf course and  some very good restaurants in the vicinity including the Michelin recommended Quince. The Blue Flag beaches at West Bay and St Mildreds are wonderful for walking the dogs in the winter and swimming in the summer and, if you enjoy cycling, there are a number of excellent routes including part or all of the 32 mile stretch of coastline from Ramsgate to Reculver via the Viking Coastal Trail. There are also two very good secondary schools in the area as well as a number of well-respected primary schools with grammar and private schools available in Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Canterbury. Road links are very good with access to the Thanet Way for Canterbury and London while, for more in depth retail therapy and entertainment, there is the Westwood Cross shopping centre with its plethora of high street stores and restaurants, casino and bingo hall.

The area has a lovely village feel,  friendly, safe, and beautifully green, and we’ve always appreciated how easy it is to get around, whether heading into Deal (twinned with St Omer), out to the coast, or further afield. Despite the rural setting, we’re only a short drive from Deal railway station, which offers regular services to London St Pancras via High‑Speed, London Charing Cross, and London Bridge, making commuting or visiting the city straightforward. We’ve always enjoyed the mix of practical convenience and coastal charm, from picking up groceries to strolling along the seafront or browsing the Saturday market. Closer still, Sholden has a welcoming community atmosphere with local stores and services that make life easy. One of our favourite aspects of living here has been the access to farm shops and local produce. Within a short drive you’ll find places like Ripple Farm, Solley’s Farm, and several smaller independent growers offering fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy and artisan goods. It’s a lovely part of the lifestyle here, being able to buy local, seasonal produce and enjoy the countryside on the way. Families will appreciate the excellent choice of award winning local schools. Sholden has a well‑regarded primary school, and Deal offers a strong selection of both primary and secondary options, including Warden House, Kingsdown & Ringwould, Goodwin Academy, and Dover Grammar Schools within easy reach. The area has always felt very family‑friendly, with safe streets, green spaces and plenty of activities for children. What we’ve loved most about Hull Place is the sense of calm it provides. The tree‑lined surroundings, the quiet lanes and the gentle countryside backdrop make it feel like a retreat, yet everything, shops, schools, transport, the beach, is close enough to reach in minutes. It’s a location that has offered us privacy, convenience and a wonderful quality of life.

House with garden and terrace Deal (United Kingdom)

What the Owners Say: Living here has given us the privilege of enjoying one of Deal’s most desirable locations, a setting that balances tranquillity, convenience and everyday practicality in a way few homes can match. Positioned opposite the beautiful, tree-lined expanse of Victoria Park, the house sits within a peaceful residential pocket, yet remains just moments from the town centre, the station and the seafront. It is a location that has enriched our daily life, offering both calm surroundings and effortless access to everything Deal has to offer. One of the greatest advantages of living here is the exceptional transport convenience. Deal station is only a short walk away, providing direct high‑speed services to London St Pancras International, making commuting or day trips remarkably straightforward. Regular routes also connect to London Bridge, Charing Cross, and London Victoria, offering flexibility for work and leisure. For those who prefer to drive, London can typically be reached in under two hours, while Canterbury, Sandwich and Dover are all easily accessible via well‑connected local road networks. The combination of coastal living with such strong links to the capital has been a genuine luxury. The area is also exceptionally well served for schools, something we have always valued. Within easy reach are several highly regarded primary schools, including St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Deal Parochial Church of England Primary School, and The Downs C of E Primary School. For secondary education, Goodwin Academy is conveniently close by. Having this cluster of schools so near has made family life wonderfully simple, with safe walking routes and a strong sense of community. Everyday amenities are equally accessible. Deal’s vibrant town centre offers an excellent selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants and essential services. The weekly markets, artisan bakeries, and well stocked farm shops in the surrounding villages have been part of our regular routine. Supermarkets, pharmacies and local conveniences are all close at hand, while the seafront, just a short stroll away, provides a beautiful backdrop for morning walks, weekend relaxation or meeting friends at one of the town’s popular beachfront cafés. What we have loved most about this location is its balance: peaceful, green surroundings opposite the park, combined with the practicality of being so close to the station, schools, shops and the beach. It is a place that supports family life, professional life and leisure in equal measure, a setting that has made living in Mill Road truly special.

Seaside house with garden and terrace Deal (United Kingdom)

We were the first public owners of a property on this site back in 1998 and have thoroughly enjoyed living here ever since. It is a wonderful family home and, as it is in a cul-de-sac, it is very safe for children and pets and virtually all the houses near ours have been family homes with kids providing a very friendly community. During our time here we have put in new bathrooms and the kitchen but still kept all the historic period features that give it such a great character. The property is in a wonderful location as we are only a very short distance from the seafront and some useful local shops along the Strand where you will find the bandstand and the Downs Sailing Club and where regular events are held. We can walk into Deal town centre in about 10 minutes and enjoy the wonderful shops, restaurants, seafront and famous pier as well as the Saturday market, while Tides swimming pool complex is not far away. The fast train from the mainline station at Walmer can whisk you to London in under an hour and a half, and excellent educational facilities are available in the vicinity. These include the Kingsdown and Ringwould Primary school rated Outstanding by Ofsted as well as first class grammar and private schools in Dover, Sandwich and Canterbury. There are the Kingsdown and Walmer and the Royal Cinque Ports golf clubs for golfing enthusiasts and, if you want to go slightly further afield, there is also the championship course at Royal St George's as well as Princes while other sports clubs include rugby and bowls.

House with terrace Ramsgate (United Kingdom)

What the Owners Say: We moved here around four years ago and have truly fallen in love with the area. We have looked after and maintained the property whilst being sensitive to its historical features. Hand crafted panelled doors have been installed over the years to match the original high skirting boards. The staircase is the central focal point to the property and was refurbished a few years ago. The lower ground floor is a modern family space, where you can have a coffee with friends, enjoy mealtimes or simply relax. Now, as we look toward the next chapter in our lives, we hope someone else will enjoy the benefits of everything we have done, creating a home you can walk straight into without needing to do anything other than bring your furniture. The position is delightful, and the resident community is exceptionally friendly, creating a wonderful social atmosphere. We are only moments from the dual carriageway, giving easy access to London, Canterbury, Sandwich, Dover and Folkestone, yet from our front door we can stroll straight out to walk the dogs along the cliff tops and blue‑flag sandy beaches. It is a joy to wander down to the bars, cafés and restaurants around the marina or cycle along the Viking Trail. Sporting opportunities are plentiful, with tennis courts literally on the doorstep. Sailing enthusiasts can moor their boats at the marina and enjoy the Royal Temple Yacht Club, while golfers have an impressive choice of nearby courses including St Augustine’s, North Foreland, and the championship links at Princes and Royal St George’s. Broadstairs also offers rugby and cricket clubs for those who enjoy team sports. Families are well served by Outstanding primary and grammar schools, along with excellent private options. Contemporary house with garden and terrace Broadstairs (United Kingdom)

Rising proudly at one of the highest points in Thanet, this historic property is an exquisite coastal home. Originally constructed circa 1906 as one of the earliest residences on the prestigious North Foreland Estate, this remarkable landmark began life as the North Foreland Tea House, later known as the Dutch Tea House, a celebrated coastal retreat where visitors paused for refreshments served by staff in traditional Dutch attire. Its terraces and lawns, open to the sea breeze, once welcomed figures such as Winston Churchill, Vincent Price and Peter Cushing. Today, after a meticulous, full‑scale restoration, the Dutch House stands not only returned to its former splendour but elevated into a masterpiece of contemporary coastal living. What was once a fading relic has been transformed into a beautifully curated family home, sensitively designed for the demands and luxuries of the modern era. Passing through the elegant entrance gate, a charming pathway bordered by a pebbled frontage and raised wildlife pond leads you toward the house. The first glimpse is impressive, but stepping inside reveals the true calibre of this residence. Solid oak floors, generous proportions and a sense of refined craftsmanship set the tone. The superb drawing room, anchored by a multi‑fuel burner, flows effortlessly through panelled folding doors into the sophisticated dining area and the serene study, where a wall of windows frames the side garden. With all doors open, the entire space becomes a magnificent, free‑flowing suite for entertaining, culminating in the enchanting orangery, once an open balcony, now enclosed with full‑length windows overlooking the secluded sunken garden. The contemporary kitchen and breakfast room is a triumph of design: granite worktops, bespoke cabinetry and limestone flooring create a luxurious yet welcoming environment. A range cooker, American fridge‑freezer, dishwasher and even an inset TV ensure every culinary moment is a pleasure. Beyond lies a practical utility room and a delightful family room opening onto a small courtyard with access to an external wet room, perfect for rinsing sandy children or muddy dogs after a day on the beach. A spacious landing leads to the modern family bathroom and three double bedrooms. Two open directly onto a vast wraparound balcony, including the principal suite, complete with fireplace, a sumptuous en‑suite featuring a raised slipper bath and wet‑room shower, and a beautifully appointed dressing room. The balcony flooring and composite railings promise years of maintenance‑free enjoyment of the expansive sea views. Ascend to the top floor for the home’s most breathtaking surprise. Alongside two further double bedrooms and another family bath/shower room lies the spectacular panoramic sitting room, a space wrapped in windows on three sides, offering uninterrupted views from sunrise where you can see France on a good day, to sunset across the North Foreland golf course and lighthouse. A wood‑burning stove and discreet kitchenette with fridge, bar and sink make this an irresistible retreat. Outside, electric gates open to generous parking for four cars and a driveway to the garage, perfectly positioned for potential conversion into a separate annexe or pool house (subject to planning). The rear garden, set below eye level for exceptional privacy, features manicured lawns, a large central terrace for al fresco dining, raised flower beds and a substantial summer house ideal as an outdoor dining room or a stylish teenager’s hideaway. The property also has planning permission for the erection of a three‑storey, four‑bed detached dwelling following the demolition of the existing garage. While this represents a substantial redevelopment space occupied by the garage, there remains the potential for someone to re‑apply for a smaller dwelling or an annexe should a reduced scale be more appropriate for them.
