This home is truly a rare find in Marfa: newer construction, modern finish-out, separate casita, surrounded by privacy fencing on ±1/4 acre. Constructed in 2018 in Marfa’s Avant Addition from steel framing, with a metal roof, stucco exterior and concrete floors, this home was designed to be minimal and durable.
Upon arrival, you can pull straight into your carport, shaded by a mature fruitless Mulberry tree. Just down the illuminated sidewalk, the entry porch is adjacent to a covered dining area, both east-facing so you can enjoy them year-round.
The home’s wide front door has a set of custom-built French screen doors, flanked on the north and south by entrances to the bedroom suites. Through the front door, the expansive great room extends to the north and south, with the kitchen in the center. An office/studio and walk-in pantry are at the north, and a half bath and utility room at the south end. Two large bedrooms with en suite baths extend east to surround the entry porch. Each suite has a walk-in closet, and the full baths have radiant heat floors, custom cabinetry, and tiled showers. High ceilings, mini-split HVAC, and recessed lighting are found throughout the 2,100 square feet.
Returning outdoors, you will find the secluded yard has been xeriscaped with a mix of native plants and garden beds. A concrete patio is adjacent to the 400-square-foot casita, which can be accessed privately from the west side of the main home. The casita has a wood stove, high ceilings with fans, mini-split HVAC, and plumbing in place for a full bath.
