luxury house for sale Geesteren, Netherlands
House with pool and garden Geesteren (Netherlands)
Exclusive country house on a large plot, with guest house, swimming pool, and paddocks for horsesOn the edge of the picturesque village of Geesteren stands this magnificent country house with guest house and office space—a place where tradition and high-end living meet. This extremely luxurious ensemble covers a generous plot of over 1.9 hectares, consisting of impressive ornamental gardens, a beautiful ‘paddock paradise’ and the ancient orchard. The main house dates from 1935, but in recent years – while retaining its rural character – it has been completely transformed and made sustainable into the exceptionally beautiful farmhouse it is today. No expense was spared, with a consistent choice of extremely high-quality materials, and the beautiful paintwork on all the woodwork is striking. The roofs and windows are well insulated. The garden has a ground installation for 90 (!) solar panels, and there are two large solar collectors on the roof of the farmhouse. This magnificent house therefore has an excellent energy label A+. B&B or home office? In 2018, the former warehouse was replaced by a beautiful, architecturally designed (Haverkort Architects) barn with an attractive thatched mansard roof. A statement house and a landmark in the village, as it is virtually the only part that is really visible from the public road. So, have you always wanted to run a B&B, or do you work from home and need a fantastically equipped office? Then the Dennendijk ticks quite a few boxes. In short, everything about this estate—because that's what we can call it—is just right: the proportions, the elegant design, the meeting of classic traditional and modern... It is an oasis of luxury and blissful tranquility in the most beautiful region of the country: the Achterhoek. GeesterenGeesteren is a charming village in the Achterhoek, bordering the Twente region. The church tower with its golden hen and rooster, dating from the 16th century, dominates the horizon and is surrounded by a patchwork of meadows, rolling hills, and fields. Time seems to have no hold on the character of this village; it is old-fashioned in its beauty, and a few years ago its charm was rewarded with the title ‘Most Beautiful Village in Gelderland’. Ground floor - Main houseTwo decorative wrought iron gates provide a fitting welcome. You can park on the spacious driveway on the right, with a view of the incomparably beautiful gardens. The entrance is located under the porch, on the side of the house. The central hall is magnificent, with natural stone tiles, cream-colored, smoothly plastered walls, and fresh white woodwork. On the left is the toilet with a washbasin and the stairs to the upper floor. On the right is the kitchen, the beating heart of this house. The design is truly beautiful: traditional craftsmanship by Lodder Keukens from Barneveld, equipped with all modern conveniences. Every door, drawer, and function has been carefully considered. The kitchen has an L-shaped layout and is very spacious, so there is plenty of work space and room for all your guests at the large dining table. The fronts are copper-colored, which creates a beautiful interplay with the marble countertops and the sleek appliance wall. The kitchen is equipped with built-in appliances such as a dishwasher, refrigerator, and freezer. Furthermore, there is an induction hob (90 cm), a coffee machine (Gaggenau), a 4-in-1 boiling water tap (Quooker), and a generous wine climate cabinet (Liebherr).Adjacent to this, accessible both through the glazed French doors from the kitchen and from the central hall, is the spacious sitting and garden room; what an ambiance! The floor is covered with oak herringbone parquet, which, together with the old beams, gives a classic context to the contemporary interior. The room is fabulously beautiful, but it is also homely: cozy and warm. There are two sitting areas, both with a fireplace: on the one hand, in the living room, a sandstone fireplace with a wood-burning stove behind glass and, on the other hand, a modern gas fireplace in the charming garden room. On the left side of the house is the bedroom with bathroom on the ground floor. The former barn doors have been filled with glass and offer a view of and access to the garden and stables. Adjacent is the beautiful bathroom, with a double bathtub, spacious walk-in shower with rain and hand shower, a toilet, and a beautiful double sink. At the rear of the house is the spacious utility room with pantry, built-in cupboards, and connections for a washing machine and dryer. From the utility room, you can walk straight into the garden. Upper floor The bright and sunny landing—which embraces the central atrium—has three spacious bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom with a walk-in shower (with rain and hand shower), toilet, and sink. Guest house annex office The entrance is located both at the front and in the stables. From the stable complex, there is a bright hall with a series of attractive built-in cupboards. On the left is a storage room and the toilet, and at the rear is the large laundry room with connections for a washing machine and dryer. Adjacent to this is the lock – the walls entirely filled with glass – which provides access to the ground floor of the guest house/office, a magnificent open space in which the staircase serves as a room divider. There is an office space and the room where the large conference table is located. There are built-in cupboards and a toilet with a washbasin. Upstairs is a spacious bedroom.Stables and garageThis country house is designed for keeping horses. The stable complex is therefore magnificent! At the front is the space for motorized horsepower: the large garage (56 m²) with double, electrically operated roller doors. From the garage, there is access to the spacious attic (30 m²). The stable complex has three large stalls, a wash area, and French doors to the paddock. Outdoor spaceWith over 1.9 hectares, you have plenty of space to enjoy yourself here! There is a beautiful ornamental garden with a lawn as smooth as a billiard table. Your privacy is guaranteed here by the beautiful planting of large, evergreen rhododendrons, beech hedges, and various deciduous trees surrounding the property. From the kitchen, there is access to a lovely sun terrace, which borders the heated swimming pool (5.40m x 11.70m) and surrounding terrace. Here you will find a canopy with sun loungers. At the rear of the garden is the orchard with a four-legged haystack. The solar panels are also located here. This part of the grounds is divided into two paddocks with a shallow pond in between. There is also a classic chicken coop—made of black rebated cladding with a red roof—with two stalls, a storage room, and a shelter for the horses.Adjacent to this is a large barn, again in black Swedish rebated cladding with a red roof, with a large carport and two spacious sheds.General:Year of construction: 1935 and converted into a farmhouse in 1993, but also almost completely modernized in recent years.Maintenance: Good to excellent.Insulation: Roof insulation (Unidek), facade insulation in the garden room, facade insulation, insulating glazing.Heating: Hybrid heat pump (LWP) for underfloor heating and radiatorsSustainability: 90 solar panels Location: Just outside the built-up area of Geesteren Outbuildings: Guest house annex officeHorse stable and very spacious double garage (56 m²) with loftBrick, largely lockable, carport (84 m²)Chicken coop (29 m²) Extra: Second access road : The outdoor swimming pool (5.4 m x 11.7 m) with sun deck is heated by an independent LWP (air heat pump)Volume: 994 m³Living area: 258 m²External storage space: 320 m²Plot size: 19,250 m²Energy label: Energy class A+Acceptance: In consultationThis property has undergone a structural survey and has an energy label.

House Neede (Netherlands)
omanticism in the midst of nature - Striking villa in a beautiful locationBirdwatchers and nature lovers, this is it! On top of the Needse Berg stands this striking villa; the double hoods and light facades are unmissable when passing Lochuizen. This spacious villa, with a living area of about 209 m², offers no less than three bedrooms, a spacious bathroom and has a large basement. In terms of sustainability, this lovely house is also very well insulated; the insulation is top-notch, the heating is efficient thanks to the heat recovery system and underfloor heating, and the monthly energy bill is therefore mild. We dare to say with our hand on our heart that this place is unique in its kind; 36m above N.A.P. the house towers above its surroundings. And that is a wonderful place to stand, because the house - sitting fraternally next to the Hollansche Molen - gives you an incomparable 360º view that changes character from hour to hour like a living painting. These panoramic views are experienced here simply from the kitchen, with a hot cappuccino in hand and binoculars on your nose. Poppies and cornflowers Here you experience the land, the weather and the seasons, but above all you experience nature. The current residents have put their heart and soul into making this a true Garden of Eden, with an eye for biodiversity and aesthetics. The colorful borders are a poem of color and form throughout the garden. At the back of the garden, half an acre has been sown with wildflowers, and this is something spectacular; around May and June it is a sensory feast of fragrance and color here, due to the many thousands of cornflowers, chamomile buds and poppies. This is not only beautiful to see, it actually produces something; by now a whole colony of partridges lives here very peacefully and scurries around throughout the garden. But also all kinds of garden birds - the goldfinches like to hang out with a group of them - and meadow birds have found a safe haven here. The evening twilight, which is almost cinematic because of the vastness of the land, turns the forest edge into green velvet, invites the roe deer to have a nice graze on the ash trees and is regularly visited by the white wolves, which stretch from the forest over the land.Between Neede and DiepenheimThe house is in Lochuizen, between Neede and Diepenheim, on the Needse berg. Stories abound in this area, from the Giant of Bambergen who lost his bag of sand here and made Needse berg, to the forest elephant, the “cools” created by clay mining and the role of this mountain during WWII... She has seen everything and remained unyielding. The center of Neede, with cozy shopping streets, the baker, butcher and greengrocer, and of course the hospitality industry, is a stone's throw away. Due to the colorful textile past of this town, there are particularly beautiful and striking villas scattered throughout Neede, making the famous Rondje Neede, which goes along village and nature, a wonderful pastime.Eight car minutes from the center of Diepenheim - affectionately called 't Stedeke - an artists' village in Twente, surrounded by magnificent castles and estates. Diepenheim is beautiful; its nature is impressive and its cultural offerings high. Art routes, open studios and various cultural gatherings are organized annually. In the center there is a theater (Herberg De Pol), a museum, a well-stocked neighborhood supermarket and the butcher who is really out of his league!Ten minutes away you will find places like Lochem, Borculo, Groenlo, Diepenheim, Eibergen and Haaksbergen. The big city, in the form of Enschede and Hengelo, for example, are an ideal 20 minutes away (the N18 is nearby). The Achterhoek is the land of milk and honey; locally there are many stores where vegetables, meat and dairy products are available directly from the source. In short, life is good here. EnterThe villa is entirely single-story, barrier-free and with extra-wide doorways. In the genial east, we naturally like to enter from the back, but for form entrance at the front of the house, in the spacious and sunny hall. On the floor is a beautiful, light ceramic tile that works excellently with underfloor heating. The baseboards are integrated with the walls throughout the house, so dusty edges have no chance here. The architect's mission was to create an open, light and sunny home, and he succeeded excellently. To the right is the living room, with a large semi-circular glass bay window at the front and a large gas fireplace, which provides warmth and ambiance at the push of a button. The kitchen is open, but because of its location in the program, overlooking the garden and the historic ash landscape, it has an atmosphere all its own. The fronts are walnut and the granite countertop is primal. Everything is there, from all desirable built-in appliances like dishwasher, fridge-freezer and combination microwave to a Miele coffee maker that will have you whipping up coffee, cappuccino, latte and tea in no time. At the rear of the house is a covered terrace made by the French doors; a lovely place to end the day. Here there is also a large fixed parasol, to make the most of the garden even on hot days. Left is the front bedroom, now used as a study and gym. Then the utility room, with connections for washer and dryer, pantry, door to the driveway and access to the basement. The basement with a drive-in garage and a large workspace measures an area of 75 m² and of course lends itself perfectly to parking the car, bike and lawn mower, but because the space is insulated, it can also be easily set up here the cinema, the long-desired man-cave realized - complete with pool table and bar, or the wellness built, with sauna, plunge pool and shower. After the utility room the second bedroom, with a magnificent view of the mill and the village. The master bedroom is at the head at the rear and has a beautiful view of the garden and the ash tree. Next to the room a large bathroom, complete with WC, double sinks, a shower with seat and a wonderful whirlpool. For your wardrobe there is a spacious walk-in closet. Outside... for there lies an impressive 1.2ha waiting for you. At the front, the plot is accessed by an electric gate, allowing you to drive straight into the garage. Surface parking is also possible, because the driveway has room for at least eight cars. There is also a charging station, so you always drive away with a full battery. The garden is divided with an ornamental garden at the front and side, at the back of the house there is a vegetable garden. The back of the plot is covered with carpet of field flowers, with daisies, chamomile, stork's beak, sunflowers, cornflowers and poppies in all colors. Behind the garden runs the bike path where people regularly take the time to literally stop and take in the beautiful view. Another plus: because of the altitude, you won't get your feet wet here easily.OpportunitiesAre you looking for space for business activity at home, for example? Or do you have the desire to have a large garage at home? There is already a permit granted by the municipality for the realization of an outbuilding of 150 m². House Almen (Netherlands)
Romantic Country House ‘De Kleine Ehze’, a gem nestled in the tranquillity of the Almen countrysideJust outside the village centre of Almen, with the river Berkel flowing nearby, stands a fairytale-like country house. An impressively beautiful villa in the beloved English country house style. With its thatched roof draped like a stole over its shoulders, the magnificent English landscape garden, and sweeping views of the surrounding bocage landscape, this elegant residence appears as though it has always been there. And yet, it is remarkably young for its category, having been built in 2001. Only the barn by the driveway recalls the predecessor of this magnificent home. Villa De Kleine Ehze is a classical beauty, yet young in structure and condition. The Master’s TouchThe design originates from the drawing table of Leeflang Architectuur, renowned for masterfully blending contemporary and historicising elements in such a way that the result gains a sense of timelessness. It almost seems like magic—this architectural firm consistently delivers outstanding results: a substantial country house with a living area of 379 m², situated on a plot of over 2.5 hectares, yet feeling entirely like “home.” Human scale has always been the guiding principle, resulting in a residence full of charm, warmth, and domestic comfort. Thanks to modern construction methods and standards, this villa is not only visually striking but also exceptionally comfortable to live in. It features excellent insulation, HR glazing throughout, underfloor heating, a lighting plan with LED spotlights, and a ground-mounted installation of 48 PV panels in the garden—earning it an impeccable A energy label. The interior is fully in harmony with the exterior, both in detailing and colour palette (beautifully curated in Farrow & Ball tones), resulting in a well-balanced composition.Villa De Kleine Ehze draws heavily in look and feel from its larger counterpart across the road. Huis De Ehze is one of the iconic estates the Achterhoek region proudly showcases. The 19th-century landscape romanticism is in full bloom here, as the surroundings were shaped in the 18th century when Huis De Hoogenkamp still stood here. In 1905, the current house in English country house style was realised, designed by George Nicolaas Itz. His design principles—abundant light and air, a large dramatic roof, refined window glazing bars, and shutters—create a charming image perfectly suited to the idyllic setting of Almen.AlmenA village to dream of, just outside Zutphen. Almen looks as though it was conceived by a poet, with winding paths and roads, an ancient church, a small village school, stately tree-lined avenues, rolling fields, a church path, a small shop, a tennis court, and a swimming pool for warm days—all embraced by the gently meandering Berkel river. You live less than ten minutes from the vibrant Hanseatic city of Zutphen, and centrally between charming towns such as Gorssel, Laren, Vorden, and Lochem, each offering a wide range of shops and amenities. Within 15 minutes you reach the A1 motorway, which connects you to the Randstad in approximately 45 minutes. The House – Ground FloorA tunnel of greenery leads to the driveway. The property is enclosed by white fencing and tall hornbeam hedges. At the edge of the grounds stands the old young-cattle barn, a remnant of the former farm. The house is preceded by a large circular driveway with a beautiful lime tree at its centre, symbolising happiness and domestic fidelity.Entrance beneath the large central canopy into the main hall. This beautiful hall is paved with Solnhofen stone in shades of ochre. The white woodwork of the double staircase contrasts elegantly with the ochre-yellow walls, which provide a warm, sunny tone even on the dreariest days.Immediately to the left are the utility meter cupboard and WC, as well as a hallway providing access to the driveway, garden, and utility room with pantry, featuring sand-coloured cabinetry, a stone countertop, and a double stainless-steel sink. Adjacent are two alcoves housing the cloakroom and access to the study. To the right is access to the kitchen, and straight ahead lies the living room. The kitchen is a delightful space; the long dining table invites leisurely tea breaks with a newspaper or relaxed Sunday breakfasts. The kitchen is beautifully crafted with light cabinetry and a terrazzo countertop. The backsplash and hood surrounding the induction hob are made of Belgian bluestone. Property Haaksbergen (Netherlands)
Unique (estate) plot with building opportunities near HaaksbergenSchoolkaterdijk 80, HaaksbergenIn a truly stunning location, nestled in the enchanting Twente bocage landscape, we offer you a remarkable property set on an expansive plot of nearly 10 hectares. It features an old farmhouse with remnants of the original farmstead and several dilapidated outbuildings, on which a new country house may be built. Due to the existing nature and the size of the property, it may qualify for classification as an NSW estate (Dutch nature conservation estate). This exceptional property is located in the hamlet of Stepelo, situated between Haaksbergen and Hengelo. The immediate surroundings offer a beautiful mix of old arable fields bordered by wooded banks and scenic nature reserves. Here you can enjoy natural beauty every day, while amenities remain within easy reach. The major Twente cities of Hengelo and Enschede, as well as the N18 and A1/A35 motorways, are only about a 10-minute drive away.Unique complexThe property comprises an old farmstead with surrounding lands consisting of a beautiful mix of agricultural fields, woodland and natural areas. The total area amounts to an impressive 9.99.15 hectares. The farmstead has been abandoned for quite some time. From the original farmhouse, parts of the rear façade and foundation remnants are still present. Other structures include a small shed (approximately 30 m²) and a large barn of around 225 m², both in moderate condition. The property is generously mapped as a residential area on the zoning plan, covering about 5,300 m², allowing for the construction of a new country house. The agricultural land covers about 9 hectares according to the zoning plan and has recently been used extensively by third parties, mainly for sheep farming. This usage has been terminated and the land will be delivered free of lease or tenancy. The actual usable agricultural area may be smaller due to the presence of wooded banks, shrubs and similar features. The existing wooded banks and forest elements along with the extensive area, offer the potential for the entire complex to be classified as an NSW estate, which could provide various tax benefits. This is a unique opportunity to create a tranquil living environment in nature, possibly combined with the hobby keeping of horses, cattle or small livestock. Of course, you could also choose to simply develop the beautifully situated building plot and sell or lease the agricultural land to nearby farmers.AccessContrary to its formal address and local signage, this property is accessed not via Schoolkaterdijk but via an unpaved municipal road starting at the corner of Ensinkweg and Hulstweg, in the immediate vicinity.Building opportunities for a country houseThe zoning designation allows for the construction of a residence with a volume of 750 cubic meters on the residential part of the plot. Additional volume may be achievable through the “Red for Red” scheme from the regional rules for rural spatial developments in Southwest Twente. Under this scheme, for every additional cubic meter of house volume beyond 750 m³, 2 m² of visually disruptive buildings must be demolished.More information about this scheme and the applicable environmental/zoning plan can be obtained from the municipality of Haaksbergen.UtilitiesCurrently, the property is only connected to the electricity grid. Connections for water, internet and sewerage are nearby but not yet installed on the property.A unique opportunity in green TwenteThe surrounding area is renowned for its rural charm and expansive nature reserves. Nearby reserves such as Haaksbergerveen, Buurserzand, Lankheet and the Twickel Estate offer endless opportunities for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. The nearby town of Haaksbergen boasts a charming center with various amenities such as schools, sports facilities and shops. Similarly close are the cities of Hengelo and Enschede, offering extensive urban amenities like shopping centers, theaters, healthcare and educational institutions (including the University of Twente) and railway connections. In short, this location offers the perfect balance between rural tranquility and urban convenience. Are you looking for a unique combination of nature, space and privacy? This plot provides the perfect opportunity to realize your dream project. We warmly invite you for a personal viewing!

Property Almen (Netherlands)
Fabulously beautiful, NSW estate Besselink on the BerkelGood wine does not need a crown, as the saying goes. And, to be fair, it is almost impossible to describe Erve Besselink in a way that captures the beauty and class of this giant. Just the location alone, on the Berkel, at the weir, with its own fish ladder around the house, is one and all romance. This beautiful farmhouse, with a living area of 438 m² and a capacity of over 2,500 m³, forms with the surrounding land of approximately 7.5 ha a frankly imposing ensemble. There is a lot of variety in the picture; an oak forest, a beech forest, grassland, flower meadow, a fish ladder, a dream of an ornamental garden... And, rumor has it that an amorous pair of beavers even built a love nest by the water. Romance at its finest! At the heart is the beautiful farmhouse, overlooking the Berkel River. In 1382 - yes really, so long ago already - there was mention in the registers about “Erve Besselink” here near Almen. This is how long people have lived here and the history of this place goes back much further. In 1800 this giant of a T-farm was built; the large main house with the part where the cows were, the young cattle barn or schöppe, where later the beautiful tea garden was housed, and the stoltenberg, the haystack with barn. After a long life - centuries - in 2011 this beautiful farmstead was converted into a high-quality finished and optimally preserved residence. Because the agricultural use was removed, the landscape was also changed. For example, it was decided at the time to restore the historic moat and route it around the house again. The farm itself underwent a true transformation and although on the outside it still tells of the nostalgia of the early 19th century - with the shutters, the windows with rods and the facade layout, it has been modernized from top to toe on the inside, and you step into an extremely luxurious and beautifully designed home. Want to work from home and need office space? The completely renovated part - with an insanely cool loam stove with pizza oven, a brand new roof and thatched roof - offers plenty of space, enough for several people to work here. There is also a beautiful studio downstairs, so sleeping and bathing on the first floor is also an option. AlmenAlmen looks like it was conceived by a poet, with winding paths and roads, a ancient church, a village school, stately avenues of trees and bulbous ash trees, a church path, a little store, a tennis court and a cute swimming pool for fun on hot days. And all in the loving embrace of the meandering Berkel River. The grass is greener here - we're sure - and yet less than ten minutes from the bustling Hanseatic city of Zutphen. In 15 minutes you are on the A1, which then takes you into the Randstad in 45 minutes. Erve Besselink is currently not open, there is plenty of walking, canoeing, biking and horseback riding around the estate, should you choose to open the estate to the public - for the benefit of the public - then these benefits apply 100%, rather than partially. NSW estateThe house and land are ranked under the 1928 Natural Beauty Act, which means it meets a number of requirements, such as that:- it is at least 5 hectares in size;- it consists of at least 50% woodland (forest) or natural areas.A cinch for Erve Besselink, because it is all nature there. But, there is more, because why would one want to own an NSW estate now? In a nutshell, the answer is that there are great advantages for the owner: namely, he or she enjoys tax benefits from ownership in terms of income tax, corporate income tax, transfer tax, gift and inheritance tax and real estate tax. Ground FloorThrough the large wooden gate, into the yard. The huge Bentheimer feeding trough, now serving only as a landscape embellishment, stands like an art object in front of the orchard. The large barn doors offer a friendly view. To the left is the main entrance. All the woodwork is thickly varnished (natural wood varnishes based on linseed oil allowing the wood to breathe) and looks absolutely fantastic. Inside, too, it quickly becomes clear that no expense was spared, and only the best materials were used. In the hall on the floor, the travertine Vieux de Bourgogne dales, which also make their reappearance in the kitchen and hallway. On the wall, a very tasteful linen structure wallpaper in a fine taupe color, which provides a beautiful background for any type of interior. Modern rustic was chosen here and all the elements work together in full harmony to create a wonderful composition. On the left the stairs to the floor, on the right the WC - out of the art with gorgeous glazed Portuguese tiles and matte black ceramic plumbing in the form of hanging closet and sink arrangement- and the access to the studio. To the left is the spacious basement. The living room has a magnificent floor; it is an old castle floor from the French chateau of the previous owners. The current residents had it beautifully sanded and coated with a refined gray floor oil, blending seamlessly into the contemporary interior. The music room is a room en-suite, separated from the living room by sliding doors, and now has the role of an old-fashioned art cabinet, but one whose indoor climate can be adjusted entirely as desired. If you do not have a Steinway or art collection to display here, then this is a wonderful study, library, cinema or dining room. To the left, overlooking the garden and side terrace, is the upstairs room, which shares a gas fireplace with the living room. A lovely corner to crawl away with a good book. The BarnThe part, where the cows used to ruminate, has been transformed into a super cool space; the rafters and the thick reed package (there is still insulation material in between) have been left in sight and the space is nice and light through the skylights. The concrete floor - ready for the installation of floor heating -, the beautiful loam stove and the staircase (forge Oldenhave from Vorden) give it a raw, industrial edge. Downstairs, two separate toilets have been installed. Upstairs, the billiard room will be realized. This part could become anything: the superlative of a mancave, a sitting room with play area, a large B&B or business space for your steward's office, architectural firm, dental or physical therapy practice. We're just listing a few cross streets, because you can still completely pour your own sauce over this. The only thing that cannot be changed is the grandiose character of this space: it is ingrained in the house. The kitchen is truly one of a kind: completely custom made and put together by a kitchen studio. The large kitchen features heavy oak fronts and granite countertops. All built-in appliances are by Gaggenau, which guarantees optimal design and function. There is an appliance wall with double refrigerators and a steam and a convection oven. On the other side, overlooking the sunny side terrace a large worktop with double sink and a five-in-one boiling water faucet. Up front, in the contemporary cove, the stove with wok burner, plancha and four large gas burners. The studio features a spacious living room with a floor of oiled smoked oak. In the hallway to the left is a handmade built-in closet in a lovely lime green, and to the right is the bedstead, with sliding doors and space for a large television. Following this is the large bathroom with double sink, WC and walk-in shower, and the first approach to the door to the part. Upper floorOn the upper floor a sunny landing with two magnificent bedrooms, walk-in closet, the WC and the technical room. The master bedroom is accessed through the bathroom: with the allure of an exclusive resort, it features a double shower with rain shower, a freestanding bathtub overlooking the garden, and a large double sink. The walk-in closet has flamed wooden sliding doors and the bedroom is bright due to the large windows. The sleek design gives this room a particularly serene feel.On the other side under the hood we find the second bedroom, now used as a study.Outdoor spaceWhen an agency like Eelerwoude gets involved in landscaping, you just know it's going to be okay. And so it did. The gardens around the house are once again bordered by the moat, through which the crystal-clear water of the Berkel gaily splashes. From the house, living is focused on the Berkel and the village beyond. On the right side you have a view of the beech forest, where you can go via the little bridge to take a walk; between the trees is a path. On the opposite side are another oak forest, meadows and a flower meadow with orchard. The ornamental garden is magnificent; fresh green lawns bordered with colorful borders and chock full of flower beds, rhododendrons and a large walnut tree. In front of the kitchen is the lovely sun terrace, with rose bed and yew hedge. Perfect for sunny lunches and dinners, or just lounging all day in the lounge set. There is an orchard with standard fruit trees, for your pies and jams. In its previous life, the schöppe was a well-attended catering establishment. Now it is a wonderful place to unwind, to sit by the wood stove with friends or to commit your life story to paper. Or perhaps to resume commercial activities after all, because the kitchen is ready for it. On the roof are solar panels. In front of the barn is a large glass greenhouse in the starting blocks for your tomatoes, citrus fruits, potting table and cuttings. The vegetable garden, with its chestnut fences, offers more than enough space to be self-sufficient. Near the gate is the large stoltenberg, hay barn with space for vehicles such as a tractor and lawnmower. At the campsiteAcross the street begins the long driveway to the quiet campground. This small-scale campground annually attracts lovers of nature and/or water sports. On warm days, people from the neighborhood come to swim in the Berkel and enjoy the sun on its banks. Therefore, we asked the current residents what their experiences are with this. They answered us that, due to the character of the campsite - a silence campsite - they hardly experience any disturbance from visitors. On hot days, the sounds of water fun can be heard, but that can certainly not be called “disturbing. Partly because the living and life is so oriented on the Berkel, the great peace - interspersed with bird sounds and the occasional cow mooing - is the main part of the experience. In short Happiness can't be bought, but with NSW estate Erve Besselink you will come a long way. This beautiful estate with its voluminous, preserved farmhouse, offers optimal living comfort in a luxurious designer jacket. Have you become curious whether this estate is something for you? We would be happy to take you for a tour, and discuss with you the possibilities and what owning an NSW estate could mean for you. General:Year built : Originally built in 1800. Villa with pool and garden Almelo (Netherlands)
They were looking for a home in the countryside, east of The Netherlands, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. A house with atmosphere and charisma. They sought peace, freedom, and privacy, but not in the middle of nowhere. They found all of this on Bornsestraat, in the green area just outside Almelo. A characteristic country house in a beautiful location, centrally located in Twente. Simultaneously, it has excellent accessibility to Twente cities (A35) and the highway (A1) towards the west of the Netherlands and Germany. Meanwhile, that's already 35 years ago. We still say to each other: 'What a nice house this is!' But we have to be realistic and think ahead. Like everyone else, we are not getting any younger... After much hesitation, we are now consciously choosing a smaller house, once again in this area. It's challenging because, in reality, we don't want to leave this house nor this place. A PICTURE... Situated on a low-traffic side road (solely for destination traffic), at a considerable distance from the main road, this country house (1942) has been beautifully integrated into its green surroundings. Even inside, you consistently experience a connection with the typical Dutch landscape of meadows and wooded areas. The white facades, windows with muntin bars, Louvre shutters, the thatched roof with dormer windows, and the tastefully landscaped garden all together create a magnificent picture, with a nod to an English cottage. Style, luxury, charm, and quality go hand in hand here with a warm homely atmosphere. Because coziness is important to the current residents. This distinctive residence is truly something for nature lovers. RENOVATIONS 1989 Before the current residents settled here in 1989, the country house, especially internally, underwent a thorough renovation. Contemporary living comfort was added while respecting the authentic appearance. The electrical installation was completely renewed at that time, as well as the water supply and drainage system, and all the floors. Floor and cavity wall insulation were installed, double glazing was added. At the same time, a beautiful garden was created, with a circular driveway in front of the house and a tennis court at the rear.2000-2002A significant renovation took place during the period 2000-2002. In particular, the right wing was extensively expanded, providing space on the ground floor for a swimming pool and wellness facility. Meanwhile, on the upper floor, a spacious bathroom, bedroom, and fitness area were created. At the same time, the roof of the house was completely renewed: insulating roof panels were installed and finished with thatched roofing. Additionally, an (extra) detached garage was built, entirely in the style of the country house. Yes, this renovation took a while. We took our time to make everything exactly to our liking. And it worked out perfectly.Everything is perfect It is immediately clear at a glance: only skilled craftsmen with a passion for their trade have worked on this country house. Just take a look at the wall units, the radiator covers with black natural stone tops, the paneling, the parquet floor: top-notch custom work. The same applies to the magnificent wrought ironwork of the staircase balustrades, curtain rods, and outdoor lighting. The exterior woodwork is impeccably painted. And then there's the garden that makes the country house 'bloom' as well. Everything is in place. Thanks to the right combinations of colors and materials, the interior is characterized by harmony and tranquility. Lighting, audio, and other electronic equipment are remotely controlled. The built-in ceiling spots cast a warm light in almost every room. Hats off to the current residents who conceived all of this themselves.THE GROUND FLOOR GRAND ENTRANCE WITH ALLURE We enter the premises through a (secured) wrought iron electric gate, flanked by two sturdy natural stone pillars. There is ample space for parking multiple cars. As we approach the front door, a robust panel door in black, adorned with a door knocker, comes into view. Behind it is the vestibule with (built-in) wardrobes. Behind the double pivot doors (with muntin bars and glass), the stylish central hall with a gallery unfolds.THE HALLWhat a sight, this bright hall with its marble floor, unique wall painting, and gallery with a stately staircase that stands out with beautiful artisan wrought ironwork. Instantly, you get a feeling of home. Additionally, the intercom unit is installed in the hall. So, you can see who is at the entrance gate and open it remotely if desired. The central hall provides access to various rooms: office, dining room, kitchen, and restroom.THE OFFICE Let's start with the spacious office to the right of the entrance. This glass-filled room, equipped with underfloor heating, enjoys beautiful natural light. While working here, you can fully appreciate the delightful front garden. The tastefully furnished office features a custom wall unit, providing plenty of storage space. A French door opens onto a wide paved path, leading to the terrace that stretches across the entire front facade.THE RESTROOMBack to the hall and then to an intermediate space where the timeless restroom, executed in light tones, is located. There is also built-in storage space here. This 'intermediate hall' is adjacent to the kitchen. But for now, let's move to the stylish dining room. We open the double sliding doors (with muntin bars and glass) in the aforementioned hall. Incidentally, the dining room is also accessible from the kitchen. Quite practical!THE DINING ROOM Gathering around the table with family, friends, or business associates: in this inviting environment, you have all the space to host a large group. Seated around the long dining table, you bring warmth into the house. And that's what the current residents appreciate. The dining room is pleasantly bright as well. The wide sliding door in the rear facade opens onto a semi-circular, mostly covered terrace, situated by the (uniform) pond. The terrace offers an unobstructed view of the pond, the garden, and the countryside.Just like in the adjacent living room, the skilled interior craftsman has left his mark with stylish custom wall units. Densely, glass, and open cabinets interchange in perfect harmony. This playful composition blends seamlessly with the paneling, radiator covers, and window sills. Off-white and taupe are the main colors that surprisingly complement the solid wenge floor, laid in a herringbone pattern. THE LIVING ROOM The living and dining rooms are separated (or connected...) by a stylish, custom-made wall unit construction, with a wide passage on either side. The wenge floor seamlessly extends into the two separate rooms. The same applies to the ambiance. Very cleverly thought out! The living room is also truly spacious. The focal point is the imposing natural stone fireplace. It's a great place to be in front of the open gas fireplace (remotely controlled), cozy and warm. Not surprisingly, it's a favorite spot for the current residents. Through the wide sliding door in the front facade, you can step onto the aforementioned terrace. This terrace, with a lounge area and a picnic spot, is equipped with a wide electric awning, also remotely controlled. The view of the front garden never gets old. Directly from the living room, you can access the wellness facility, including a swimming pool, which will be extensively discussed later in the story.THE KITCHENUnlike the rest of the house, the kitchen has a sleek modern style. Thanks to a thoughtful application of materials and colors, the kitchen still perfectly complements the rural look of the house. The handle-less, solid wood fronts in black-brown and the countertop (composite) with a marble look form a beautiful combination. It matches the existing marble floor that was polished and finished with a glossy coating at the time. The beating heart of the kitchen is the large kitchen island that doubles as a dining table. The kitchen island is equipped with a FullSurface induction cooktop (Miele) with a built-in ceiling hood (remotely controlled). The sink area, with a luxurious Quooker Fusion (black), is located against the back facade. A window provides a fantastic view of the pond, backyard, and countryside. A custom-made kitchen cabinet in style contains the built-in appliances: an oven and a combination microwave (both Miele), a large freezer, and a refrigerator (both Liebherr). There is no shortage of workspace and storage space. It's a nice, practical kitchen. Where you can also sit comfortably. By the way, you also have a view of the entrance gate and driveway from the kitchen.THE UTILITY ROOM & GARAGEThe kitchen provides access to the adjacent utility room with the back entrance. The utility room is equipped with a sink. In a spacious built-in closet, the washing machine and dryer are housed. A second walk-in closet is used as a pantry. The utility room is connected to the garage, which can be accessed from inside. The spacious garage, with tiled floors, features a remotely controlled roller door (aluminum) and a charging point for electric cars. A sleek (sliding) cabinet wall houses a boiler and central heating boilers. The extensive meter cupboard was completely renewed in 2022. A hatch in the ceiling provides access to the storage attic above the garage. However, it is more convenient to access it from the upper floor of the main building.THE WELLNESS WING Swimming pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish steam bath, bar, lounge conservatory, gym A home wellness facility with all the amenities gradually became a wish on the list for the current residents. For their own pleasure, but also to share the enjoyment with others. Therefore, in 2001, a substantial extension was added to the right side of the country house, in exactly the same style as the existing residence. This extension created space on the ground floor for a swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, lounge conservatory, and bar. And on the upper floor, there's a gym. Every detail was carefully considered in the execution of this exceptionally spacious wellness area, with symmetry as the guiding principle.Above the rectangular swimming pool, which is sunken into the floor, is a 'sky dome': a dark dome adorned with small lights. The heated pool, equipped with an electrically operated slatted cover, has a wide natural stone edge with steps on the short side providing gradual access to the water. The floor-heated wellness area is covered with matching tiles. In the semi-circular conservatory at the front, you can enjoy the ambiance around a gas fireplace. Integrated blinds are incorporated into the double glazing. There is also a comfortable seating area in the bar section to relax. Drink cooling appliances are discreetly concealed in a beautiful custom wall unit. The opposite long side consists of semi-circular columns with benches and a wall painting. Around the swimming pool, there is plenty of space for sunbeds. A person lift effortlessly takes you to the fitness room on the first floor. The fully equipped gym has the appearance of a mini skybox, with a view of the pool below. A skylight lets in plenty of natural light.Double glass doors near the water basin lead to more wellness indulgence. How about a Finnish sauna and a Turkish steam bath? Both are equipped with dark privacy glass: no visibility, but a view. Further on, we find more practical spaces: a spacious shower room, a sink, a toilet room, and a dressing room. The indispensable technical room is also located here. It houses all the necessary equipment, from the heating system, water purification filter, and the dehumidification system to the tank with eucalyptus oil for the steam bath. From the swimming pool, both the front and back gardens are directly accessible (garden doors). And, as mentioned earlier, also the sitting room of the living area.THE UPPER FLOORS Of course, the upper floors are also characterized by an abundance of space. Here, you'll find the master bedroom with a private bathroom and dressing room, two guest rooms, a guest bathroom, a separate toilet room, and a fitness area. There is once again a unity in style, material, and color use. Storage space is not lacking, thanks to custom-made wall cabinets and several attic storages. A fixed open staircase leads to the top floor where there is another spacious bedroom/sitting room.THE GALLERY WITH THE STAIRCASE We take the previously mentioned majestic staircase, covered with black high-pile carpet, to the first floor. The staircase balustrade is the result of pure artisanal wrought ironwork, where the blacksmith skillfully used copper and black wrought iron. Also, from the landing - with a balustrade in the same style - you experience the beauty of the hall and gallery. A rare and beautiful chandelier hangs from a rosette (stucco) at the highest point. You simply must see this with your own eyes.THE MASTER BEDROOM with dressing room and private bathroom From the landing, the dressing room is accessible, which in turn provides access to the master bedroom and the private bathroom (for clarification: you can walk in a circle here). The terms spacious, stylish, comfortable, and practical apply once again to this three-part unit. Like all the other rooms, the dressing room has a door with the same appearance. However, a steel plate is integrated into this door. The spacious dressing room is surrounded by a built-in wardrobe on all sides. Tailored for an extensive wardrobe.A door further, we enter the air-conditioned master bedroom. During summer heat, this air conditioning also keeps the dressing and bathroom wonderfully cool. The warm wooden niche wall around the bed, the (tilt-and-turn) windows with muntin bars, the delightful natural light, and the remotely controlled dimmable recessed spotlights create a fantastic atmosphere in the exceptionally spacious bedroom. Blackout roller blinds are installed for the windows, and all opening windows have screens. Behind the double sliding doors in the partition wall hides a robust metal roller shutter (electric). This way, you have direct access from the bedroom to the gym. If this doesn't invite a good start to the day... As mentioned earlier, the spacious fitness room is also accessible by a lift from the wellness wing. Now, the luxurious private bathroom, executed in timeless light, natural tones with white sanitary ware. It is designed for comfortable enjoyment. The heated floor is finished with XL light gray tiles, and off-white tiles are chosen for the wall tiles. The shower area, equipped with glass walls, is very spacious. There is also a whirlpool, an extra-wide double sink (with a mirrored cabinet and solid oak vanity), a toilet, and a bidet. The extensive sliding wardrobe consisting of mirror panels gives a particularly spacious effect. Pleasant daylight enters through the dormer window, which has blinds for privacy. Behind the cleverly integrated half-height wall, storage space is created for items such as bath textiles and other necessities. THE GUEST ROOMS & THE GUEST BATHROOM The landing provides access to two spacious and cozy guest rooms. One of them has a sink with a vanity unit. The other sleeping area has a large walk-in closet. Through a door, the large attic (storage space) above the aforementioned garage is accessible. Guests have access to a spacious private bathroom. Again, it is executed in light, neutral tones. The bathroom has underfloor heating and is equipped with a bathtub, a shower area (glass walls), and a sink with a vanity unit. As mentioned earlier, there is a separate toilet room adjacent to the landing.FANTASTIC ATTIC ROOM A fixed open staircase (painted white, with non-slip strips) leads to the top floor. A door provides access to an extensive, neatly finished attic storage space. It's beautiful how the wooden roof structure has remained visible here. Behind the other door hides a fantastic attic room, once the domain of the daughter. This exceptionally spacious, 'excitingly' arranged room has several small dormer windows. A kind of alcove under a sloping wall seems made for a double bed. And then there is plenty of space to set up a seating area. Also handy: there is a sink. Many enjoyable hours have been spent here with a group of friends.THE BASEMENT FLOOR We haven't mentioned the basement yet. A white-painted staircase with wrought-iron balustrade, located between the kitchen and dining room, leads to the spacious basement. This consists of three separate rooms. The atmospheric centerpiece is the wine cellar with broad curved wall niches on both sides. The open niches are completely filled with wine racks. Your favorite wines can ripen in peace here. Some niches have double doors and shelves. Where there is wine, there must be tasting, right? There is enough space for a long table. The two (former) pantry cellars adjacent to the wine cellar were used in the past - before the introduction of the refrigerator - as storage space for vegetables, fruits, and other groceries. This area maintained a constant coolness. It is also convenient that the technical unit for the underfloor heating can be controlled from here. Furthermore, the water softener is housed in the basement.OUTBUILDINGS - THE DETACHED GARAGE The current residents have built a detached stone garage on the left side of the property. It is entirely in keeping with white facades, windows with shutters, and a thatched roof. Inside, the garage is one large space. The three aluminum remotely controlled roller doors in the front facade tell us that there is space for three cars. Seamlessly following the (teardrop-shaped) driveway, parking space has been created in front of the garage.THE TENNIS COURTNice to have a tennis court next door. Especially the children have had a lot of fun with it. Thanks to evergreen planting on the street side, the court is hidden from view. However, anyone playing a game of tennis can freely enjoy the pond, the backyard, and the adjacent landscape. The previously described terrace is also located near the tennis court. A high fence on the street side and against the property line with the neighbors keeps 'swinging' tennis balls within bounds.THE GARDEN The garden surrounding the mansion was designed and landscaped in 1989 by an authority in the field: Jan Boomkamp Gardens. The characteristic soft, flowing lines of the house have been 'copied' into the garden. The front garden consists of an extensive lawn, evergreen hedges, a border edge, and several round plant beds. The teardrop-shaped driveway made of natural cobblestones, with a green circle in the center, is beautifully integrated into the whole. The well-thought-out choice of layout and planting ensures that the striking house comes into its own. In the backyard, it is the beautiful pond that attracts attention. Furthermore, this garden area consists of a large lawn and a modest beech hedge that forms the property boundary. Sitting on the elevated, partially covered terrace against the rear facade, you can - in complete privacy - enjoy a panoramic view of meadows and impressive rows of trees in the rear field. In 2019, the garden was thoroughly renovated, with the original design by Jan Boomkamp intentionally retained. Because it just suits this house. But after all these years, the garden called for soil improvement. At the same time, a large part of the planting was refreshed. Professional maintenance does the rest: both the front and back gardens are well-maintained and healthy. The specially designed garden lighting showcases the craftsmanship of the blacksmith. In periods of drought, the computer-controlled irrigation system (groundwater from its own source) provides a solution. Throughout the entire garden, there are recessed sprinklers, drip hoses, and connection points for water sprinklers. The irrigation system, housed in the detached garage, is equipped with an iron removal filter.SAFE LIVING Extensive attention has been given to the aspect of 'safety'. However, for understandable reasons, we do not go into detail about this. We can mention that, as welcoming as the current residents are, no one can enter the property without authorization. Moreover, the plot is completely fenced with a sturdy metal fence, reassuring for those with young children and, of course, for dog owners. The electric, remotely controlled metal gate is connected to an intercom system (audio and video). Furthermore, the property is secured by surveillance cameras, motion sensors, and automatic lighting. A graceful and, at the same time, burglar-resistant metal construction has been installed in front of various windows. Finally, the mansion is protected against lightning strikes.ABOUT THE AREA - Urban amenities within reachBornsestraat 380 is located less than five kilometers from the center of Almelo. Villa with garden and terrace Enschede (Netherlands)
Monumental villas with contemporary interiors are true gems, often featured in TV programs. This villa on Thorbeckelaan, built in 1926 as a rectory, is such a rare dream home. Designed in the Um 1800 style by architect Huijgens, the property offers a unique blend of nostalgia and modern comfort. Surrounded by greenery, the villa provides ample privacy while being close to the center of Enschede. The house exudes exclusivity and retains many authentic elements, such as the staircase and wood carvings. The spacious, high-ceilinged rooms with parquet floors are full of character. Recent renovations have added modern, sleek elements, such as an extension with wooden panels, all done in consultation with Monumentenzorg. Over its more than 100-year history, this villa has witnessed much. The ‘grande dame’ has survived two world wars, narrowly escaping the last. Bombings completely destroyed the nearby elementary school. To continue providing education to the children, a temporary classroom was set up in the rectory. During air raids, they would rush to a safe shelter in the basement. At that time, Reverend Nanne Zwiep lived in the rectory with his family. In church, he preached against the persecution of Jews, which cost him dearly. Reverend Zwiep was arrested and transported to Dachau, where he died in 1942. In his memory, a Stolperstein was placed in the floor in front of the villa’s front door. The rectory also served as a hiding place for refugees, revealed by a removable plank in a closet on the second floor. Behind the wall, the residents found a child’s shoe and old newspapers. Out of respect for the past, the space has been preserved. The history also brought beautiful moments: former residents, often children of pastors, would leave notes or ring the doorbell to visit their old home once more. During those visits, heartwarming stories were shared. The positive atmosphere of the rectory, always palpable, ensures that visitors feel right at home. The villa, shielded with a distinguished fence, is built on a mound. The terrace with the impressive double front door is reached via a stone staircase. Above it is a graceful balcony. In the entrance hall, featuring a small radiator and a new meter cupboard, begins the beautiful terrazzo floor. Through a glass swing door, you enter the large, bright hallway with the same terrazzo floor. Immediately, you are struck by the seamless blend of ‘then and now.’ Particularly impressive are the extensive door frames with artisanal wood carvings from the past. A large, round designer lamp on the ceiling—repeated elsewhere in the villa—represents the present. When lit, the pattern of the lamp is reflected on the walls, creating a magical effect. On the right, you find the first room with three tall windows. The former study now serves as a ‘chill room,’ but it is also perfectly suitable as a bedroom. In addition to the two monumental built-in closets, there is a third closet that houses the water softener. If you go straight right down the hallway, you enter a small hallway with two doors. The left door leads to a spacious, underground cellar with two windows. There are plenty of closets on both sides. The floor has recently been replaced with tiles in an ‘old style.’ Behind the second door is a restroom, equipped with a window, toilet, sink, and radiator. Returning to the hallway, you walk diagonally straight into the living room en suite. Furniture is almost redundant here; the living space itself exudes atmosphere. The area is divided into a front room and a dining room. The beautiful, glass suite sliding doors with built-in storage on either side allow the rooms to be separated. To maintain the symmetry of the monumental building in the windows as well, an extra window has been added to the outer wall of the front room. In that same wall, a flue is present in the middle, under which stands a wood stove as an elegant addition to the cozy ambiance. Warmth is also provided by radiators under the windowsills. The dining room also features radiators and a wood stove. The mantel above the stove is lined with Oud-Hollandse tiles, forming an original accessory in the otherwise serene room. Wooden sliding doors, framed with storage behind wooden doors, provide access to the backyard. From the dining room, you walk into the kitchen. The large, high windows offer a view of the terrace and garden. Here too, there is a sober, pleasantly calming interior base. The small, gray, antique-looking floor tiles are original handmade Castelo tiles with underfloor heating; how delightful! They share the same gray tone as the imposing cabinet wall with a large refrigerator, fresh-keeping drawers, steam oven, warming drawer, and kitchen cabinets that reach the ceiling. A stainless steel niche in the middle of the wall is the spot for the six-burner gas stove with an oven. The stove is flanked by spacious, deep basket drawers, with a concealed pull-out pantry on the right side. There is no lack of storage space in this practical kitchen. If cooking is your hobby, this is the culinary Valhalla. There is enough room to try out recipes for the tastiest dishes together. Prefer to watch? You can do so from one of the six stools at the generous kitchen island that forms the heart of the kitchen. A rail on the ceiling supports spotlights and pendant lights. The kitchen island has a stainless steel worktop and sink with a tap, Quooker, and built-in soap dispenser. You can place the dirty dishes directly in the dishwasher below. Very practical, and you can immediately join the bar for an aperitif. The kitchen also has a mantelpiece, which is currently out of service but can be reactivated. A charming detail in the kitchen is the pass-through in the wall to the dining room. According to legend, servants used it daily and frequently in the past. Nowadays, the pass-through mainly fuels your imagination… What all has passed through here? It could be a separate chapter in the history book of this villa. Adjacent to the kitchen, an extension was created in 2015. The passage is entirely made of glass and opens into the second dining room. In keeping with the monumental character of the house, the space is largely furnished in the same style as the rest of the ground floor. The same tiled floor as in the kitchen, white plastered walls, and high windows. The main difference lies in the style. The interior frames are made of the same wood as the exterior wooden panels. The space is lit by ceiling spotlights and pendant lights and features storage space against a ‘Delft blue’ wallpapered wall, a nod to history. After the dining room, through the small hallway, the inside and outside are separated by a sliding door to the terrace on the left. In the hallway, there are also sliding doors that disappear into the wall when opened, providing access to the wardrobe with hanging and laying options and a glass door to the outside. Depending on the season, wool mittens or sun hats can easily be stored in the extensive closet wall that spans the entire wall width. Beyond the wardrobe is the back door to the driveway and the street side of the garage. The shed cum garage is built in a matching style. The spacious garage with double doors at the front and back offers space for a car and storage for all kinds of tools and other items. If you’re creative, you can quickly turn it into a workshop. The majestic staircase with graceful, curving handrails featuring original wood carvings is a monument in itself. Ascend the runner and you reach a small landing with a large window and another small staircase. This is the ascent to the first floor, which is lit by the second round designer lamp. Various bedrooms feature spherical lamps on the ceilings. These are also identical to each other but smaller and different in appearance than the lamps in the hall and landing. For the furnishing of the first floor, uniformity in the bedrooms is key to serenity. All bedrooms are equipped with connections for TV and cable, multiple low-mounted radiators, monumental built-in closets, and several large sliding windows. Together with the high ceilings, the generous daylight gives a sense of freedom and space. The floors throughout the floor have been replaced. The light-colored wooden plank floors are made of the same type of oak as the herringbone parquet downstairs. The dimmable wall spots and white, double-layered roller blinds are also found everywhere. The white plastered walls in some rooms are decorated in various ways with a colored pattern. Arriving on the upper floor, you find five doors. Clockwise, the first bedroom is located on the street side. A double bed and a desk fit here perfectly. You still have enough space left. Behind the second door is the bathroom with a window, spatially above the entrance downstairs. The bathroom, done in a combination of white and brown tiles, is equipped with a hanging toilet, a shower behind glass walls, a vanity unit with storage drawers, a double sink made of black natural stone, and built-in taps. The wide mirror above it is framed with the same brown tiles as the wall in the shower area. The third bedroom is accessible via both the third and the fourth doors. On clear days, you can almost leave the light off in this bedroom. A large window and French doors flood the room with daylight and sunshine. From the small balcony, you look out over the backyard. In this room, the symmetry returns in the form of closets on either side of the French doors. Staying here feels like being in a luxury hotel. This spacious bedroom (above the dining room en suite on the ground floor) has three tall windows. One of them is part of a chic bay window finished with wooden wall panels. True to tradition, there are built-in closets on both sides of the bay window. Truly splendid is the ceiling here, adorned with authentic ceiling moldings and ornaments. Continuing the route, you reach the next sublime room, bedroom 5. Daylight enters through three windows. A contemporary wardrobe complements the hanging and laying space in the monumental built-in closets. No unnecessary accessories, just peace. And that is exactly enough to fully relax here. From the landing, two staircases, of course with a small landing in between, guide you to the second floor and the third round designer lamp. The villa’s impressive contents are once again evident here. Look down from behind the balustrade. What you see are not ordinary stairs. The monumental staircase resembles a unique piece of architectural art. Three doors form the selection menu on the second floor. The left door provides access to a small hallway with four more doors. The stylish villa boasts a second bathroom, housed behind the first door in the hallway. This bathroom has a robust character, thanks to the old wooden beams incorporated into the interior. The sloping wall with a skylight also sets the atmosphere here. In the corner of the bathroom, an oval bathtub draws attention. Relaxing in the bath is literally done in higher spheres here. A vanity unit with drawers, a black double sink in one, two built-in taps, and a wide mirror illuminated by a wall spot are placed in front of a wall. Behind it, there is a walk-in shower with built-in spotlights. All walls and floors are tiled with the same square, gray tiles. The next door in the small hallway leads to the sixth bedroom, currently used as a laundry and ironing room. Behind the remaining two swing doors on the right side is a space for a washing machine and dryer. The appliances stand on a noise-reducing concrete platform. Crossing the landing directly, you reach bedroom 7. This is a smaller room, also with a small bay window with a window, a sloping wall, and space for a single bed. While each room tells its own story, this room holds a particularly remarkable history. It is in the strikingly shallow built-in closet, where a plank seals off the space where refugees hid during World War II. Through the middle of the three doors on the landing, you do not enter a bedroom but instead climb a steep staircase to the attic. Should you, despite the abundant closet space, still be looking for a place to store, for instance, Christmas decorations, this is your spot. The surprisingly spacious attic, where you can stand upright, offers many possibilities. There is even a separate storage area. You could potentially create an eighth bedroom. The central heating boiler that hangs there dates from 2013. An interesting detail is the ladder lying on the beams. With it, you can reach the flat roof through a hatch. When you think of a cozy garden, you think of fruit trees, a sprawling lawn, a sunny seating area, and a covered terrace for cool evenings. This garden, accessible via the dining room, kitchen, and extension, has it all, including a pear tree. Matching the style of the villa, the paving consists of old clinkers. It is delightful to relax after a busy day at the outdoor seating area, from the loungers, or on the covered terrace against the garage wall. From here, you have a view of the garden, the back facade of the house, and the extension. Is it too chilly outside already? No worries, turn on the heaters, and you can enjoy beautiful evenings for hours. In the corner of the garden, you can take a seat under a third terrace’s canopy. A dense growth of trees and shrubs surrounds the lush garden. A wall covered in ivy forms the separation from the neighbors behind. On the expansive lawn, there is plenty of room for play equipment. Both inside and around the house, maintenance is up to date.
