In the Var hills, an 18th-century farmhouse with a pool and a view. Starting from a small road that leads away from the village of Cotignac, a path winds through the Var hills and leads to a gravelled esplanade, shaded by large trees. Positioned dominantly, the farmhouse is set within a landscaped estate arranged in successive terraces. It offers wide views of the surrounding hills. Centuries-old olive trees, holm oaks, oleanders, agaves, and aromatic plants mingle in a typically Provençal vegetation. The property retains the characteristics of traditional architecture: facades made of local hard stone, jointed with lime, old canal tile roofs, and projecting eaves. The farmhouse, which perfectly follows the terrain's relief, is raised one to two levels depending on the slope of the land and features openings highlighted by old patinated solid wood lintels, as well as stone or terracotta supports. Limestone pavements, stone steps, and calades of limestone extend the architecture into the interior spaces. The original building is associated with an extension that completes the living spaces. Below, a dry stone shed provides additional storage space. The paved courtyards and terraced areas, supported by dry stone walls, follow the natural slope of the land. A swimming pool, embedded in a stone terrace and bordered by wrought iron, opens widely towards the horizon.
