Hotel Licciana Nardi (Italy)
Fascinating 17th-century castle in high Tuscany that, after careful and meticulous restoration, has become a luxury complex with a restaurant, pool, spa, and reception. Description "Built by one of the great families in the region, it was almost entirely destroyed twice until the current owning family bought barely more than a ruin to restore it to its current state, which borders on perfection. Externally, it retains its fortified appearance with its four towers strategically placed at the corners. It is located in the center of the small village and majestically stands on the edge of a small stream. In the center of the castle, a cloister illuminates the lower floors. Around this cloister, on the ground floor, are the restaurant, which can accommodate up to 120 people indoors and 32 outdoors, the bar, relaxation area, reception, and spa with sauna, emotional shower, and massage room. On the first floor, there are 14 suites with private bathrooms, some with private lounges, and others on multiple levels. There are several rooms suitable for receptions, conferences, dance parties, and a splendid covered terrace from which the panorama towards the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines can be admired. Outdoor spaces In an incomparable position overlooking the village and its surroundings, it is discreetly protected by the Apennines. The stream that flows peacefully beside it caresses it gently and gives it a special charm, both in winter and in summer, which are significantly cooler and more pleasant than the city months. Condition and finishes The complete renovation of the property began in early 2000 and required several years of continuous and meticulous work. The materials used and the chosen furnishings make it a timeless object. The careful hands of artisans and the volcanic spirit of the current owner have rendered the castle modern, without distorting its original nature and structure. Potential uses A luxury resort capable of providing its guests with strong emotions. A "buen retiro" where one can escape the stress of daily life and reward oneself with a period of total relaxation. Location Lunigiana, in high Tuscany, renowned for its wild nature, the marble quarries of Carrara, the typical dishes of local gastronomy, close to the sea, immersed in woods that offer unique scents, smells, and colors, is less known than other regions of Tuscany, but has a territory with enormous potential and much to discover. Lunigiana is famous for its castles, with more than 20 of different sizes and in varying states of maintenance, which gives this region a particularly special charm. This description has been automatically translated from French.
