HouseMoelan-sur-mer (29)

A hamlet of four houses plus outbuildings on the banks of the Belon River in the south of the Finistère area, surrounded by a 29-hectare estate. A discrete lane leads off a peaceful country road to the estate, which is made up of woods and meadows. In its centre, there is a group of four houses and three outbuildings as well as a swimming pool. The houses in this harmoniously laid out hamlet were originally a farmstead that probably dates back to the 19th century. The first group of buildings, made up of a house with adjoining barn, stands opposite a vast expanse of meadows. A shed is located behind and parallel to the first two buildings. Two other buildings stand opposite each other lower down and further along the drive. To the north, an outbuilding undergoing renovation is adjacent to a large pool-house which stands next to the swimming pool. To the south, three buildings have been joined together to form a single construction, while a small guest’s house stands to the east. All the buildings are made of local stone and have slate roofs, while the window and door frames are made of ashlar. Part of the rest of the property is situated along the banks of the Belon River and can be reached by a small path, visible from one of the houses, which cuts through the forest and is well maintained. Fig, apple and plum trees, rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias, ginkgo bilobas and hydrangeas have been planted in the immediate surroundings of the hamlet.
