HouseBagnols-en-Forêt (83)

A stone house on flat wooded grounds, in the heart of a perched village in the county of Fayence, between the sea and the countryside. A gate opens onto a driveway which leads to the house; the park is situated slightly below. Palm trees, pines and olive trees adorn this relatively flat terrain extending over 4,200 m². It includes a wooden shed which can be used as garage, a pond, a petanque court and a swimming pool. Various terraces, facing south, east and west, surround the residence and connect to the outdoors.
The house, built in 1987 with high quality materials, offers a substantial surface area exceeding 280 m². This is a traditional style bastide of limestone rubble masonry, warm and without frills, in keeping with the local architecture.
It consists of two main aligned sections, each spanning two levels. The first one, bordered by a large terrace to the south, is located on the lower part of the property. The second, erected on the upper part of the site, is taller than the first. The residence comprises several volumes, square or rectangular in plan, topped by one, two or four-sided monk-and-nun tile roofs, enhanced by Genoise friezes. A large number of mostly arched, sometimes straight, large-paned windows and glass doors are fitted with white-painted shutters. The frames of the openings are of exposed stone, as are the walls.
