Apartment Paris 18ᵗʰ (75)
An iconic early 20th- century building, on the 3rd and top floor of a formerly industrial building, between Eiffel and colonial style, reveals a 108 m2 duplex apartment, bathed in light with a bold and warm renovation with its tropical waves in the Marx Dormoy district, not far from the Olive market. Set back from a classic late 19th-century building, a spectacular covered passage leads to this unique address. Its metal framework and glass roof house lush tropical vegetation that interacts with the building's unique architecture with colonial accents. A former industrial site converted into a residence, this unique complex now offers a peaceful and exotic living environment. After ascending a staircase made of exotic wood, the apartment reveals a renovation worthy of its extraordinary setting. From the moment you enter, the space exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. The custom-made, stained birch plywood joinery adds character to the space. Thanks to the interplay of sliding doors and glass partitions, the room embraces openness, enhancing the architecture of the space with its exposed beams and windows on all sides. The spaces flow seamlessly while ensuring optimal practicality thanks to ample storage. To the right, a master bedroom is bathed in soft, natural light and overlooks the building's inner courtyard and its lush greenery. Opposite it, a large dressing room provides ample space for storing clothes and shoes. The first, intimate, night area opens dramatically onto the living spaces with their incredible volumes: the vast open-plan kitchen/dining room plays the card of discreet elegance with its stained wood fronts enhanced with reflective chrome knobs, an additional worktop space that is both aesthetic and practical, made of CE.SI cotton-colored tiles with clever niches that can accommodate, among other things, a small wine cellar. Blending delicately into the space and its solid oak floor, it reveals through a frame, like a painting, a living room with a cathedral ceiling and original beams preserved, open on all sides with numerous windows bringing in a crazy light that reflects on each piece of architecture and carefully chosen furniture and overlooking the lush inner courtyard as a witness to its past as a foreman's office. Set back from the kitchen, a large laundry/pantry adds to this level for even greater convenience. The decidedly family-friendly bathroom, with its walk-in shower and large bathtub featuring Dornbracht fixtures, complemented by Appiani mosaic tiles with light brown grout, completes this level. A honey-yellow staircase, split into two symmetrical parts highlighting the charm of the original framework, leads to two bedrooms with cork floors under the roof, one overlooking the living space like a lookout post and the other with a view of the glass roof and the Sacré-Coeur. A family duplex with character, incredible volumes and a unique industrial-tropical spirit.
