There are exclusive properties. And then there is Isla Centinela. It is not a villa, nor an estate, nor a mansion. It is a private island of more than ten thousand square metres, crowned by a 1923 castle, anchored in the waters of the El Burguillo reservoir and located just over an hour from Madrid. An asset without comparison on the Spanish market.Built in 1923 upon a former watchtower and fully renovated, the castle rises as an enclave sculpted between rock and stone, where architecture and nature merge in a single gesture. It is laid out over four floors connected by a lift, and its battlemented towers, panoramic terraces and great floor-to-ceiling windows offer 360-degree views over the reservoir and the Ávila mountains.Inside, seven suites all exterior and each presided over by a bespoke designer fireplace offer rest with views over the water, some with an integrated jacuzzi. To these is added a grand entertainment pavilion with a professional bar, also fitted to be converted into four additional bedrooms, raising the capacity of the property to eleven bedrooms and eleven bathrooms. A living-dining room with kitchen, storeroom, garage and machine room complete the property. Every room is exterior and enjoys full climate control ducted air conditioning with hot-and-cold heat pump, plus heating guaranteeing maximum comfort in any season. The island is, moreover, entirely self-sufficient: solar panels, two backup generators and a sophisticated proprietary water purification and filtration system ensure complete independence. Its natural setting, with private coves, its own jetty and varied woodland, lends the whole an almost magical character. Access is by boat from the private jetty a luxury practically unique in the surroundings of Madrid, and during the months when the reservoir level drops, the island joins the mainland, allowing access by vehicle right up to the castle walls.A private residence of the utmost exclusivity, a corporate retreat, a destination for ultra-luxury experiential tourism, a setting for unrepeatable celebrations or film shoots. Just over an hour from Madrid lies a place that money can rarely buy: an entire island, with its castle, its history and its silence. Isla Centinela awaits whoever knows how to recognise the irreplaceable.Property details o Key features:Land area: 10,847 m² complete islandBuilt area: approx. 1,000 m²Layout: 4 floors with lift.Bedrooms: 11 all exterior Bathrooms: 11Suites with bespoke designer fireplacesEntertainment pavilion with bar (convertible into 4 bedrooms)Living-dining room with kitchen, storeroom, garage and machine room.Climate control: ducted air conditioning (hot-and-cold heat pump) and heating in every room.Self-sufficiency: solar panels, 2 backup generators, own water treatment.Setting: private coves, jetty, woodland.Year built: 1923 Fully renovated.Location: El Burguillo Reservoir, El Barraco (Ávila)Distance from Madrid: 80 km 1 h 10 min by car.
