Just fifteen minutes from Bayeux, on the edge of the Balleroy State Forest, Normandie Privilège presents a beautifully restored 18th-century manor house with its collection of period outbuildings, set on more than 2.6 acres crossed by a river. Among its most distinctive features is a former blacksmith's forge that has been transformed into a private leisure pavilion with a heated indoor swimming pool. Built of local schist stone, the manor offers approximately 5,435 square feet of living space, including a main residence and a self-contained guest apartment. The interiors are remarkable for their generous proportions, with nearly 1,290 square feet of reception rooms, a 750-square-foot professional kitchen, and a 366-square-foot ground-floor bedroom suite. The restrained, symmetrical façade overlooks the courtyard on one side and the gardens on the other. The main residence includes an entrance hall, a double reception room, a game room, a fully equipped kitchen, a ground-floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a laundry room, a wine cellar, and utility rooms. Upstairs are a spacious primary suite with a dressing room and private bathroom, two additional bedrooms, and a second bathroom. The top floor accommodates another bedroom, a home office, a fitness room, and an additional bathroom. The guest apartment has its own private entrance and features a spacious open-plan living area with kitchen, a double bedroom, a dressing room, and a bathroom. Internal connections allow it to function either independently or as an extension of the main residence. Completed in 2022, the restoration preserves many original architectural features, including terracotta tile floors, the original staircase, period doors, and fireplaces, while incorporating modern amenities throughout. The professional kitchen is centered around a Lacanche range, one bathroom is finished in traditional tadelakt plaster, and several custom-designed fittings reflect a restrained contemporary aesthetic. Heating is provided by a De Dietrich gas-fired condensing boiler, complemented by a pellet stove in the living room. Four fireplaces remain, two of which are operational. Most of the wooden double-glazed windows, along with the aluminum picture window in the living room, were replaced within the past five years. The outbuildings include a former village grocery store, a traditional Norman longhouse converted into an artist's studio and showroom, a workshop garage, and the former forge. The latter now houses an 8-by-3-meter heated indoor swimming pool, together with a bar, showers, and restroom facilities. Behind the manor, two terraces extend the reception rooms into landscaped gardens bordered by the river. A koi pond and a centuries-old yew tree contribute to the property's distinctive atmosphere, while a wooden footbridge crosses the water to a meadow on the opposite bank. The property is connected to the public sewer system and is equipped with a remote-controlled entrance gate, a Verisure security system, exterior lighting, high-speed fiber-optic internet with satellite backup, and a Sonos audio system throughout the manor. With an Energy Performance Certificate rated Class C (June 2026), the property combines the character of an 18th-century estate with the comfort and technical standards expected of a modern home. Located less than thirty minutes from the D-Day beaches and the Normandy coast, it is equally well suited as a distinguished private residence or a boutique hospitality venture. --- The price of this property is €1,595,000. An 18th-century manor with 4,000m² of lush grounds on the Camino de Santiago pilgrims’ way in Normandy’s Calvados department. The manor stands on slopes on the north side of Lisieux, near the River Touques. It is nestled in a lush backdrop. The property’s origins date back to the Middle Ages. It owes its name to a canon who would receive a prebend from the bishop in return for teaching the Holy Scriptures. The extensive plot of land forms a triangle where two calm roads meet. The majestic building is a single edifice that looks out at lush lawns, which extend around a driveway. The driveway leads to the manor and garage. It splits into two separate lanes that run along either side of the manor. A group of tall trees on the north side lies beyond an orchard, a vegetable patch and lawns. A thick thuja hedge encloses the grounds, ensuring absolute privacy. Beyond it, there is a semi-rural environment of green landscape that is dotted with woods and that stretches to the horizon. The manor was built in the 1780s and 1790s when forest-clearing had almost been completed in the region. It is a half-timbered construction with timber framing that is typical of architecture in the Pays d’Auge province. The main section has a ground floor, a first floor and a second floor in the roof space. Oak was used for the building’s framework. Cob filler was used for the spaces between the beams and then lime-rendered. This method was inexpensive during the house’s period of construction. Today, it characterises the identity and charm of traditional Norman homes. The timber framing is mainly in the building’s upper section, its lower section being made of brick and stone. Old tiles cover the hipped roof. A protruding section on the east side that leads out southwards was built in the same style as the rest of the house, probably after the Second World War. Its roof has a jerkinhead end and eaves. The roof also has two dormers that face, at a right angle, two dormers on the roof’s east slope. On the entrance side, there are three other hipped dormers. Two brick chimney stacks rise up from the roof too. All the windows are single-glazed and have small panes. At the end of the house, an additional section adjoins the manor. It has a gable roof of old tiles with a small dormer. This extension forms a garage. It is used as a utility section and was probably originally a farm building to which the manor was added.

At the entrance of Honfleur, a few minutes walk from the Vieux Bassin, rare Norman ensemble from the 17th century: a manor of 307 sqm, two independent lodges, and an old press, all preserved in the heart of a landscaped park of 6,800 sqm. Behind the gate, a driveway lined with flower beds and fruit trees guides the eye toward the manor, remarkable and very well maintained. Today, a main residence operated as a bed and breakfast, the property includes the manor, a traditional press, and a Norman house converted into two independent lodges. The manor, from the 17th century (1680), remarkable and very well maintained, develops 307 sqm. On the ground floor: an entrance with a beautiful period staircase, a bright living room with a fireplace and generous volumes where original elements have been carefully preserved, a cross-shaped dining room with a fireplace, a kitchen, a cellar, separate toilets, and a laundry room. On the first floor, a beautiful master suite with dressing room and private bathroom, two double bedrooms sharing a bathroom, as well as several additional spaces: boudoir, small living room, laundry room. The second level offers an additional suite and a large isolated attic, to be renovated according to your projects. The half-timbered Norman house houses two independent lodges (116 sqm in total), designed for 5 and 6 people, each with a living room, kitchen, shower room, two bedrooms upstairs, a private garden, and dedicated parking. Currently operated as seasonal rentals, they provide an immediate source of income. The old press, typical of Norman architecture with its half-timbered façade and massive wooden framework, is currently used for storage. With its attic floor and generous volumes, it offers great potential for conversion: reception room, additional lodge, or leisure space. The whole forms a harmonious and charming property, ideally located for a life project, hospitality, or tourist investment in the heart of Honfleur's activity. +33685645684

In the countryside of Cotentin, 15 minutes from Saint-Lô, a manor dating from the 15th and 18th centuries, its outbuildings and its dovecote on an 8-hectare estate. From a road, a tree-lined avenue descends towards a valley. The manor appears after a dovecote and outbuildings. It was formerly a Protestant house and the property of the Dagobert family. A large gravelled esplanade punctuated by a stone well precedes the courtyard facade. The architecture reflects the two periods of construction, between the 15th and the early 18th century. Raised by one level more in the attic, the main building is pierced by multiple bays under a slate roof. On the garden side, the facade is rhythmically punctuated by a circular stair tower topped with a slate pepperpot roof. The stone walls are marked by large bay windows with crossbars. The two wings communicate at every level. They can also be arranged as independent residences. This description has been automatically translated from French.

Ref.4893 : 15th-c. listed manor house in need of restoration, with a habitable annexe and garden, in Normandy In the heart of a small village of some 180 souls, at the gateway to the valleys of ‘Swiss Normandy’ – renowned for their idyllic, rolling landscapes dotted with hedgerows – a stunning Renaissance manor house has stood for over 10 centuries. Situated in the heart of the Orne department, in a region of stud farms, lakes and rivers, sharing the countryside with neighbours as discreet as they are reassuring, this manor house remains a local curiosity, its history being so rich in events. Just a few leagues from the shops and services needed for daily life, the property also benefits from its proximity to well-served towns, such as Falaise, less than 15 km away. Undoubtedly aimed primarily at those who appreciate authenticity, this property – which features a renovated annexe – will offer everyone the opportunity to settle in and complete the restoration of the manor house under the watchful eye of the Historic Monuments authority. 1) THE MANOR HOUSE: Its construction dates back to the 15th C. (around 1589). It is a late Renaissance ‘house’, situated at the centre of a complex of farm buildings forming a front courtyard and a rear courtyard. The manor house comprises a main building with its principal façade facing east, featuring a rear wing at right angles to it, adjoining a square tower which was probably decapitated during the Revolution and which contains a fine spiral staircase. The roof is covered with flat tiles, with the exception of the tower, which is temporarily covered with corrugated steel sheeting. The complex comprises two distinct courtyards, both flanked by more or less adjoining outbuildings, as follows: Front courtyard: former stables, equipment sheds, barn, bread oven and well. Rear courtyard: henhouse, pigsty, cart shed, barn and well. There is also a cider house with an attic used for storage. Today, only the structural framework of this building remains, excluding the roof structure and roofing. At the gable end stands a dwelling for the estate’s farm labourers, now in ruins. The manor house has retained a few period features, including several fireplaces, mullioned windows, a watchtower and a semi-circular archway… The cornices and roof structures are remarkable, as are the floor rafters. 2) THE DWELLING : Built of mortared rubble stone over two storeys and topped with a small-tile roof, this house underwent a complete restoration some fifteen years ago, enabling the owners to settle here rather than restoring their manor house. It is now a comfortable home with around 100 square metres of living space, laid out as follows: Ground floor: Entrance leading to a straight staircase with a quarter turn, featuring wooden balustrades with balusters. Access to a bathroom with shower – terracotta tile flooring. Separate toilet with washbasin. Living room (20 sqm), with fireplace (wood-burning stove) – terracotta tile flooring – exposed beams. Ceiling height under beams: 2.30 sqm. Kitchen/dining room (18 sqm) – terracotta tile flooring – exposed beams. Utility room (5.80 sqm). External access. Storage room / Boiler room (3.78 sqm). First floor: Carpeted landing (4.61 sqm). Bedroom 1 with carpeted floor (17.95 sqm), with a mezzanine for additional sleeping space. ‘Cathedral-style’ ceiling. Bedroom 2 with glued solid wood flooring (13.50 sqm) – Tiled shower room with adjoining toilet (recently fitted). ‘Cathedral-style’ ceiling. Ceiling height 4.80 m. OUTBUILDINGS : By definition, every manor house leads a self-sufficient existence, reflected in the presence of a large number of buildings, each with a clearly defined purpose. This manor is no exception to the rule, but the passage of centuries has taken its toll on certain buildings, which are now either completely destroyed or in a state of ruin. Consequently, the location of the farm labourers’ cottage, situated between the gable end of the manor and the former henhouse, can now only be discerned by the presence of a few low stone walls. The bread oven has also disappeared. However, extending from the wing of the manor house, a long building without a roof structure remains, which served as a cider house and cart shed. This 18th-C. building underwent emergency restoration to prevent its collapse, including that of the stone porches. On the east side of the manor house stands an imposing stone building with a tiled roof, which formerly served as stables and a hay barn. This building has now been restored. LAND : The property is situated in the heart of a village of some 180 inhabitants, on the outskirts of the famous and renowned ‘Normandy Switzerland’, including its iconic town of Putanges, less than a league away. It features a wooded and flower-filled park of just over one hectare, offering distant, rolling views of the countryside. Numerous fruit trees (apple, pear, plum, cherry, quince and mirabelle plum) dot this peaceful and serene setting. The grounds require minimal maintenance in the immediate vicinity of the property; a plot to the north, is looked after by a neighbouring farmer, as part of good neighbourly relations. A small stream marks the northern boundary of the property, which covers an area of 2.9 acres. By order of 4 May 1990, the Renaissance manor house was listed in its entirety on the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments. This property is a historic monument (allowing fiscal tax cuts if you pay taxes in France).
