The monastery of St Bruno, built by monks of the same congregation, was erected in 1503.
Previously the home of the Moorish miners who settled there because of its proximity to the Mosque, which is still intact today, unlike the minaret of which the remains remain.
Of this magical, serene and historic place, the bell tower, the church and the campanile, preserve their condition as well as the murals of the church.
Numerous vestiges seem to be scattered throughout the property like a treasure hunt, such as the Arab hydraulic mills or the oil mill, the old cloister and the monks' cells or the monastery's private apothecary shop.
The Carthusian monks were diligent craftsmen who made olive oil and ceramics during the many hours that punctuated their silent day and their cloistered life.
On the 21ha of land there are 300 olive trees, cork oaks, pines, chestnut trees, a well, a water source and a place that was dedicated to the beehive for the production of honey.
