The first construction dates back to the 15th century with a rectangular central body, then remodeled and expanded, particularly at the end of the 19th century, in the Renaissance style marked by the double-revolution staircase and the series of galleries and arcades. Perfectly positioned in a wooded environment, the castle enjoys well-organized openings with a bucolic perspective and a green carpet on either side of the main facades and the French garden facing the east. The entire park is particularly well maintained, enhanced by subtly dispersed green lounges over its 9 hectares. On the third floor, there are four bedrooms with toilets and bathrooms and/or showers, one of which is a master suite of 76 m² opening onto a private loggia. The top floor is not to be outdone with two other bedrooms, a bathroom, two offices, and is distinguished by the library with its dizzying ceiling height and woodwork; a paradise for readers and with a view and comfort to boot. Castle Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire (44)
In the 18th century, the owner was Sieur Guyot, Clerk in charge of waters and forests of the mastership of Nantes. He was the one who built the current property. This land was a subdivision of that of Perier. Today, one can see a lovely porch and a Breton stone calvary at the entrance of the street. Through a majestic paved driveway, hidden at the back of the park classified as a protected natural area, we discover this residence that will bring a way of life for a family, offering spaces and intimate conviviality. Amidst various essences and groves, the building rises across three levels; façade frames are made of tuff. A terrace landing leads to the triangular pediment, the main entrance of the house. The entrance to the left leads to the kitchen and to the right, in a row, to a living room and the lounge. On the upper levels: very beautiful bedrooms and a photo studio. The rosettes, cornices, Hungarian point parquet floors, and broken stick oak, and limestone floors with cabochons testify to a past very well preserved by the current owners. One can highlight the existence of magnificent Directoire fireplaces that work perfectly. Outbuildings serve as a workshop, house the boiler, and allow for the storage of tools and other items. Adjacent to this outbuilding, a carport shelters a car. This haven of peace is located just 15 minutes from downtown Nantes. Castle Laval (53)
In the Pays de la Loire region, 15 minutes from Laval, on over 16 ha, a striking 18th century listed castle, fully restored. A long driveway, bordered by trees and crossing the parkland’s grasslands and woods, leads from the village to the property. Entrance gates open on to a very wide courtyard, partially surrounded by a dry moat and laid out in front of the chateau’s regular, elegant facade. The outbuildings, set out around the courtyard, comprise stables, a dovecote, pigsties, a barn, a small corner pavilion, a caretaker’s cottage and, lastly, a chapel. A central parterre, displaying its original design, takes up a large section of the courtyard in front of the chateau. A copse of very old trees stands to one side. A regular, terraced, back garden, reached via granite steps, looks down on to the rear of the chateau. The first castle dated from medieval times. In the 16th century, its status was raised to that of a “châtellenie” (an officially recognised castle and its land). All that remains of these eras are the dovecote, the chapel as well as the castle’s two pavilions. At the beginning of the 18th century, these two pavilions were connected by a vast building. The chateau, the outbuildings and parklands underwent major restoration works in 2010. A good number of these features are now protected with French Historic Monument listing (by order dated 13 March 1989): the chateau and the chapel; the dovecote facades and roofs; the perimeter wall with its moat and its support walls; the facades and roof of the little, 18th century corner pavilion; the garden with its fencing and its towers as well as the shelter over the central well; the wood and, lastly, the large alleyways in the parklands. Nowadays economic activities, notably linked to culture and events, are held by the current owners. But the potential of the buildings, not all actually in use, and the existing parklands which extend over a total of more than 16 hectares, make it possible to envisage other development possibilities, especially as the town of Laval is near and Paris and Rennes are within easy reach.

Castle Angers (49)
Réf.4409 : 19th CENTURY CHÂTEAU AND ITS 12.35 ACRES PARK JUST OUTSIDE OF ANGERS The property is located in Anjou, in the Loir valley, in the heart of wooded, rural countryside. Angers (population 160.000) is just 15 minutes away by car. Angers is the capital of the Anjou region, with all the shops and services you need (university hospital, universities, TGV train station providing a 1h30 hour link to Paris). The town centre is magnificent, with its narrow streets, the imposing silhouette of its 13th-century castle, and the parks and gardens in the heart of the town. The town has also been awarded the title of France's top green town and is a great place to live. In other words: the gentleness of Anjou. The château was built in the 19th century. In the second half of the century, its owner, a French lawyer and member of parliament, had the two towers and a gallery built around the main body, forming a peristyle. He is said to have been inspired by a trip to Italy. The rendered stone construction is trimmed with tufa stone and brick quoins, and adorned with elegant shutters. The azure and orange hues of the façade give the château a Mediterranean glow and an Italianate style. The château spans around 300 sqm excluding the attic space and faces South-West/North-East. Ground floor: an entrance hall leading to a large 28 sqm lounge with 3.3 m high ceilings, a 25 sqm dining room, a 20 sqm lounge, a kitchen, two rooms in the towers as well as a utility room-wc and a small entrance hall to the north. Upstairs: accessed via a central staircase opening onto a landing: 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms or shower rooms, 2 other small bedrooms in the towers and a toilet and WC. Above: former attic service rooms. Cellar under part of the house housing the boiler room. Outbuildings: A/ An annex house situated immediately to the west of the castle. With a floor surface area of approx. 75 sqm, it comprises a kitchen, a living room, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a utility room and a toilet. The property has not been restored for many years. The central heating system is out of order, the electricity is around fifty years old and the house is connected to the mains water supply. B/ A caretaker's cottage to the south-west of the Château. With a floor surface area of approx. 45 sqm, (it comprises two main rooms, out of date, with a recent electrical panel. Two attached garages. An old building comprising former stables and garages as well as former pigsties are nearby. C/ A group of outbuildings to the west of the castle: kennel-dovecote, small roofs in the extension of the annex house (garages, workshops, storerooms, etc.). With a total surface area of 123 787 acres, it includes a beautiful driveway leading up a small wood and opening onto parkland surrounding the château. A huge cedar tree adorns the parterre in front of the château. The property is partly walled to the north and west. There is a meadow to the north. The property is available for rent.
