What is happening on the Deauville and Calvados property markets ? What type of clients are you dealing with and what do they want ?

Gérard SAINT-ALBIN (Pierre Flore): Deauville and its environs form a special region on the French market. Demand is very strong and correctly-priced properties quickly find takers. The French and especially Parisians account for nearly 80 % of our clientele. Deauville is also much sought after by retirees.

Grégory BOITARD (Agence JB Boitard): As a result of the many events held there and its proximity to Paris, Deauville is the main site of attraction for this département. The very large majority of our buyers are linked to Paris either by their work or their family. Foreigners account for only 10 to 20% of our portfolio.

Luc SEFFRAY (Emile Garcin Immobilier): “Just two hours to the sea from Paris” is a compelling argument for potential buyers. Deauville is more than ever an extension of the capital. Deauville is also a powerful attractor for clients interested in horses. The race courses and the quality of the stud farms drive several sales every year.

Fabrice VAUPRE (Fabrice Blacher Immobilier – Réseau fBi): The Deauville market is very distinctive since very few towns of this size sport two luxury hotels, two racetracks and a casino. Our clientele is 80% French. They either go for the prestige of Deauville, or for a more discreet, family setting in the neighbouring towns. House-in-the-country clients are on the rise as green tourism becomes more popular.

Marie Le Tourneur d’Ison (Cabinet Immobilier Le Tourneur d’Ison): Prestige residences in the hinterland are in full development. The Auge area also benefits from the new A 28 motorway that puts it at just 1hour 45 minutes from Porte Maillot in Paris. You can still find very fine manor houses to renovate in the towns and villages south of Lisieux for example. Our English and Dutch friends are fully aware of this.
