We offer for sale the Splendid Tower of Tusciano, located on the coast road that leads from Salerno to Agropoli. The tower of considerable artistic and architectural value, has a considerable value given the development envisaged by the municipality of Battipaglia and Salerno, in fact it is located close to the coast and next to numerous seaside resorts, the future vocation of the area will be purely tourist. The Tusciano tower, after the Picentina, is the second located further north among the seven that rise in the stretch from Salerno to Agropoli as decided by the Governor of the Principality Citra, Giovan Maria de Costanzo, in 1553, and designed by Ing. Of the Royal Court, Benvenuto Tortelli, work began in October 1563.The Tusciano tower is located on the left bank of the Tusciano river, near its outlet to the sea, has a circular plan, tapered upwards and is in an excellent state of conservation, having been reused first as a home and today as a B & B-holiday home. The tower is internally divided into two levels, both rooms have a diameter of 4.10 meters and are covered with a lowered basin vault. The first room, on the ground level, now used as a garage, was the cistern and performed the task of collecting rainwater. To meet today's housing needs, a building has been added to the tower on the eastern side and from the terrace of this building volume you can access the first level. The second room of the tower was crossed, before the modernization, in the middle by a single ramp, which from the entrance led to the square.Today only the second part of the ramp remains of this subdivision, a first ramp runs for a quarter along the inner curved wall of the tower until it reaches an intermediate level. The tower of Tusciano had the southern part of the square occupied by the guardhouse, an environment of m3.10x5.35, vaulted with a lowered barrel. Currently others have been added to this room, leaving the only part facing the sea free. The tower tapered upwards, has the crowning to thrones in number of 12, which are more elongated than the other towers. Both inside and outside it was possible to observe that the walls like the vaults, are formed by blocks of yellow tuff, not available on site but in the Vesuvius and Phlegraean area.
