Property with garden Berlin (Germany)

Built between 1922 and 1923 by architect Eugen Schmohl — renowned for landmarks such as the Borsig Tower and the Ullsteinhaus — for the merchant Nathan Edelstein, Villa Edelstein ranks among the architectural jewels of Berlin-Zehlendorf. Constructed in brick and distinguished by its intricately articulated, asymmetrical clinker façade, the villa stands apart from its neighboring properties and masterfully combines traditional architectural elements such as a hipped roof and shutters with a distinctive expressionist character. Expressive ornamental details above the entrance allegorically reference trade and reflect the origins of the Edelstein merchant family. In 1933, the villa was converted into a multi-family residence, later transformed into office use around 1990, and ultimately restored in 2015 to its original residential purpose and character. The enclosure of the front garden thoughtfully continues the material language and architectural principles of the building, completing the overall composition with remarkable harmony. Schmohl created here a residence of exceptional elegance and refinement. Originally conceived as a prestigious family home, the villa once again offers an unusually sophisticated spatial sequence today: towards the street lie the entrance hall, formal living room and former gentleman’s room, while the garden side accommodates the kitchen, pantry and a light-filled dining room with bay window. The upper floor is dedicated to private and sleeping quarters, arranged around a central hallway. Here, two extraordinary bathrooms complement the residence with premium materials, finely coordinated color palettes and distinguished British bathroom interiors.

Property with garden Gutenzell-Hürbel (Germany)

Hürbel Castle is nestled in the gentle expanse of Upper Swabia: an estate of rare grace, shaped by over nine centuries of history and aristocratic culture. Since its construction in 1521 as the seat of the Lords of Freyberg, it has been a place of rank, dignity and timeless elegance. Behind its impressive silhouette with towers and copper hoods, a world of extraordinary authenticity unfolds: original doors, the finest fittings and historic stained glass windows tell of the highest craftsmanship of bygone eras. An incomparable highlight are the French Réveillon wallpapers (around 1785), museum treasures of international importance and rarity. With the Lourdes Grotto integrated into the tower, the castle reveals a poetic, almost mystical dimension, an architectural jewel that combines spirituality and aesthetics. An ensemble of the highest exclusivity unfolds on around 26,000 m² of parkland and approx. 1,600 m² of living and usable space with over 60 rooms. Stylishly restored vacation residences such as the Rose Garden Suite or the Napoleon Suite as well as private living and representation areas open up a wide range of potential uses at an international level. The careful restoration of Hürbel Castle since 2013 in keeping with its listed status has brought it back to life - without changing its soul. In addition, the partially converted Anna house with its enchanted hall and the gatehouse offer further unimaginable potential. A property for connoisseurs. A place for generations. A legacy of incomparable class.

Property with garden Remagen (Germany)

This outstanding manor enjoys a prestigious setting above the left bank of the Rhine between Oberwinter and Remagen. Built between 1906 and 1908 as a private summer residence for an industrialist family from Cologne, it later became the official quarters of French diplomats. Architecture, history and panoramic setting combine here in a unique way. Extensive building rights have been granted with a designated building footprint of approximately 23,000 m² in addition to the existing buildings. The development plan includes hotel, conference, spa, restaurant, additional apartments for the owners, underground parking and commercial purposes. The binding land-use plan is not time-limited. We are eager to assist with any information. Historical Significance After World War I, the estate was used by the American occupying forces until 1919. In the 1930s, it was developed into an upscale hotel and restaurant where the Rhine society enjoyed meeting, a role it resumed after World War II following periods of military and civilian use. In the late 1940s, it became a meeting place for the film industry, hosting prominent actors. From 1949 onwards, the manor served as the residence of the French High Commissioner and later the French ambassadors to the Federal Republic of Germany. Close to Bonn, it was a venue for diplomatic encounters and official representation. Current Situation Following the relocation of the German government to Berlin, the French Embassy also moved there, while the estate initially remained the property of the French Republic. In 2006, the estate was acquired by a German film producer and comprehensively restored from 2007 onward; now privately owned, the manor (which is a listed building) and its registered park are maintained in a perfect condition. Architecture & Appearance The first residents commissioned Ernst Eberhard von Ihne, one of the leading architects of his time and imperial court architect, to design a modern summer residence in the French style. The building features a clear rectangular layout with two short side wings, while the garden façade facing the Rhine forms the principal elevation with eleven window axes. The west wing is distinguished by two semicircular glazed projections used as salons or winter gardens, while the east wing emphasizes horizontal articulation through a continuous projection. Built on rock and fully basemented, the house was equipped with advanced construction and technical features for its time, offering a high level of comfort. Bright, generously proportioned rooms, near floor-to-ceiling windows, symmetrical façades, and largely original Parisian interior design continue to convey the character of a representative yet residential country estate. Park, Garden & Outdoor Facilities Thanks to the design by the renowned Berlin landscape architect Albert Brodersen (who conceptualised the Berlin Tiergarten), the landscape park with hydrants for irrigation from its own spring offers a balanced combination of intimacy and sweeping panoramic views. A three-tiered terraced garden links the house to the steep Rhine slope to the southeast, connecting thus the representative architecture with the unique landscape of the Rhine Valley. The overall ensemble also includes various outbuildings: - Coach house with 5 garages and stables (4 boxes) - Studio house with an apartment and artist's studio – 6m ceiling height – - Garage building with 7 single garages and a large garage - Boiler house with a modern CO ₂ -neutral wood chip heating system and additional oil reserve heaters. Distinguished highlights include a scenic viewing pavilion perched on the northeastern edge, while the southern grounds host an historic tennis court and a pétanque field. Set in the vibrant Rhineland yet fully secluded, the castle offers exceptional privacy. The approx. 60,000 m² fenced estate is surrounded by oak and beech forest, with two helipads and a gatekeeper’s house ensuring maximum security.

Property Barntrup (Germany)

In Barntrup in Lippe, in the middle of the charming cultural landscape along the Weser Renaissance Road, rises the Alverdissen Castle - an impressive testimony to Westphalian history and architecture. Built in its present form around 1662 under Friedrich Christian zu Lippe-Alverdissen on the preserved foundations and vaults of an earlier castle complex, the three-storey baroque ensemble with its crippled hipped roof and striking stair tower is one of the most important aristocratic residences in the region. After centuries of use as a residence, official residence, local court and, most recently, state archive of the county of North Rhine-Westphalia, the listed castle was extensively renovated in 2010 and converted into a versatile residential and commercial building. The measures carried out combined the historical substance of the building with a contemporary usage concept - carefully, stylishly and with a high standard of substance and atmosphere. With over 800 m² of living space spread over three floors, the Alverdissen Castle offers exceptional usage options for private, representative or commercial purposes. The expressive west wing features a spacious baroque hall on the first floor, which is currently used as a registry office, but is also suitable for events, exhibitions or office use. Directly in front of it is an inviting reception area, which serves as an anteroom or waiting area, complemented by a generously equipped kitchen, which is ideal for catering or event-related uses. The east wing has separate offices on the same level with their own access - ideal for independent commercial use, practice rooms or a creative studio. The clear functional structure of both wings creates optimal conditions for the interplay of living, working and representation in a historical setting with contemporary comfort. The second floor is the main living area. The eastern bedroom section with two bedrooms and adjoining bathroom offers privacy and tranquillity, while the west wing features a living room with more than 100 m², a fireplace and a spacious kitchen with adjoining dining area. The generous dimensions continue on the top floor: two separate bedroom wings, each with its own bathroom, offer ideal conditions for guests or additional family members. All levels are easily accessible via a central, restored sandstone staircase and a built-in passenger elevator. An extension of the structural facilities (e.g. guest house, swimming pool or additional garages) is possible in accordance with the approved planning and can be activated. The history of the Alverdissen Castle dates back to 1396, when a castle belonging to the Counts of Sternberg was first mentioned in a document as the county seat. After the destruction of the original building, the present castle was built around 1662 by Count Philipp zur Lippe - later Count of Schaumburg-Lippe - on the preserved cellar vaults and foundation walls of an earlier castle complex. His son Friedrich Christian laid the foundation stone for today's castle building in 1662 while he was still a child. From then on, the baroque building with its striking stair tower became an important manor house in the region. With Philipp Ernst I, a collateral line of the House of Lippe established itself in Alverdissen and resided there until the 18th century. In 1812, the castle was acquired by Princess Pauline zu Lippe, who designated it as the administrative seat for the Sternberg district. From 1879 to 1969, the castle housed the district court. Between 1977 and 1979, the castle underwent a thorough modernization, after which it was used for many years as a branch of the Detmold State Archives. It was not until 2009 - after extensive renovation work - that the castle passed into private ownership and has since been used as a residential and commercial building.
