Built between 1560 and 1575, it retains its unique charm to this daya symbol of history, nobility, and sophistication. Over the centuries, the castle served as a favorite retreat for popes, cardinals, noble families, and monarchs, including the legendary Swedish Queen Christina in the 17th century. In 1940, it was within these walls that the Treaty of Armistice was signed between Italy and France.
